"I have visited a few cat cafes in southeast Michigan and this is my favorite so far. The set up is more conducive to getting to know the cats with multiple rooms rather than a huge room, especially if you’re there to potentially adopt. The ‘cafe’ itself is a self-serve coffee pod type thing. It’s clean and lovely, just don’t expect a barista making custom drink orders or a bakery style selection of food. There were some individual size bags of chips if you want a snack. I read several reviews here about poor experiences with the adoption side of the business (Avocato is owned and run by PAAW, to correct some other reviews that suggested they are different groups). I ended up adopting a bonded pair of older kittens and the process was overall OK for me but did also experience a few hiccups, such as forgetting to complete parts of their paperwork and asking me to send copies back for their records. If you are planning to adopt, I think it’s worth a try with PAAW. It may be helpful to keep in mind that they are volunteer run so there may be a lot of turn over and variety of strengths/skills each volunteer brings to the organization. "We adopted our 2 new kittens from here right before Christmas and had a great experience. They are very thorough in their adoption process. They were kind enough to transport our kitten and get her fixed as she was too small to be fixed prior to adoption. The cats here are well taken care of."

"Went in looking at another kitty and as I was there they were bringing in 2 new cats to join their place! Butters (previously Michael) was a big loud tabby cat meowing in the cage as they brought him in and I fell in love. I’ve had him for 2 months now and he is perfect"

"Fantastic place! Everyone there truly loves the cats in their care and wants the best for them. It's nice to have separate rooms and a large common area so you can have more individualized interactions with the cats. My son has decided we need to become regulars, so we'll be back soon!"
