What People Are Saying
from Google"Former Flushing resident who likes to come back to elbow room when I’m in town. Have had many great experiences but a recent unpleasant one on 1/27/26. Seemed to be one woman working both rooms. I came to sit in the front window of the elbow room and before I could even set my stuff down she asks “do you know what you’re getting?”. I told her I’d need a minute to think about it. She said “well we only have drip coffee so there’s nothing to really think about.” I told her I just got here I’m going to set my stuff down first, I plan to get coffee and work. She asked “oh so you’re just using WiFi?” I told her I was going to use my hot spot. She proceeds to go next door to the bakery, seemingly irritated the whole time. I walk over and ask her what’s her energy about since I was literally only there a matter of seconds. She said she has an issue that I was going to just sit there and use the WiFi. I told her have a nice day and just walked out. I’ve been here several times and the experience had been nothing but pleasant but this employee was off putting."
"The ambiance is top notch. Very cozy. Shelves of books are probably untouched, but give the illusion of having time to savor a good one with a cup of coffee. Delightful! Service was neither friendly nor unfriendly. As for the coffee itself, the Sumatra was good, not great and pretty warm, not hot. There are some delightful places to sit, but all tables are small and have two chairs. If you're coming with more than that, it may be difficult."
"Connected to the bakery, the elbow room is nice, feels like it's going for 1930s Parisian cafe vibes. old but nice. the pastries aren't bad for a small town like Flushing."
"Came back here because I recently remembered their INCREDIBLE bagels from years back when I used to work in the town, and decided to make a morning of it and try the connecting coffee shop too. Both the bakery woman and man at the coffee counter were very kind. Him especially, he showed patience, kindness and offered all solutions for what I was trying to get to drink. I did not end up liking the coffee but I think that’s just because I chose house brew with flavored syrup in an almond milk froth. The fancy drink probably are great! Anyway, I brought my cat and they were all for it and welcomed us back open armed. If you’re around the area, stop in! Cash or check only! Super affordable. Under $5 for both my coffee and bagel with cream cheese."
"when i was young, i would go here for a “hot snowball” every winter day me and my brother got to play outside. those memories make me very fond of the place. the coffee is good and not too sweet, and the bakery is fantastic. my favorite pastry is the peach custard one. this is a amazing place to make memories. i plan on bringing my boyfriend of 2 years here one day…"
