from Google"This was my first time trying out Joloff and African/Caribbean food and it was incredible! Britney made some excellent recommendations and I chose the peppered plantains with a side of collard greens, all of the flavors were outstanding. Perfect spice level and the crisp was exceptional! The table got fufu and it was the perfect compliment to the bold flavors of the joloff rice. Definitely recommend, the atmosphere is relaxed and very welcoming!"
"Came to tour the Capitol building on a Saturday and found this place for lunch. The food was OUTSTANDING! We had the Jerked Chicken with Jollof & Plantains and Goat with Jollof. A nice amount spice in the sauces and the Jollof rice was really good. Good drink menu as well. The restaurant is well laid out with multiple TVs on the wall playing sports. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back again!!"
"I had a great meal out with loved ones at Jollof Afro Caribbean Lounge! When you walk in, the clean environment, warm lighting, and the unique, but practical furniture invite you into the oasis. The music from all over the African continent also helps you feel the vibe! Our server, Kemba, was great! She checked in often enough for us to have everything we needed, while still giving us space to enjoy our meal. The jerk chicken was full of “tendernism”, and the generous portion sizes are just what you want when you’re eating good food that you didn’t have to cook! Their takeout containers are heavy duty enough to carry your leftovers home safely without wimping out on you in transit. I can’t wait to come back!"
"The food is very bland. I paid $35 for mac and cheese, but the fish was very bland, very dry, super tough, and still had scales on it. It didn’t look like it had been properly cleaned, despite my request for a new piece of fish. I was told that wasn’t something I could get. I wasn't refunded, only offered an extra side of mac and cheese. So I paid for mac and cheese, which is kind of funny, not funny. I guess I’ll go back to the crack chicken on the boulevard. Which is the second picture a way bigger fish super juicy light seasoning and half the price. Now the place is a vibe very beautiful inside nice music maybe a good bar not a restaurant."
"We tried Jollof Afro Caribbean Food and it was absolutely amazing! The oxtail, greens, egusi, and fufu were all full of rich flavor and perfectly cooked. Every bite was seasoned just right — you can really taste the love in the food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming too, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Afro-Caribbean dishes!"
