What People Are Saying
from Google"Best Halal place in Royal oak!!!! I had the Detroit burger yesterday and it was divine. It had an egg, a beef patty, and a slice of steak. Everything was seasoned perfectly and I love a sunny side egg with the yolk runny, and it didn’t have the yucky uncooked whites. I got the Cajun fries and asked for extra Cajun seasoning. Today we had the beef lo mein and it was also to die for. They put some lima beans in it, which I’ve never had before, but I loved it. The beef was so soft instead of the annoying chewy steaks that are in most lo mein. Get some soy sauce packets though, because I need my noodles soaked and drenched. The butter chicken with garlic naan is yum. I like it more than the cheese naan. Not a fan of the General Tso since I don’t like sweet stuff. 24 hours later and no stomach aches! They also had friends playing on one TV and videos of Turkey playing on another. I love friends!🤗"
"Everything was delicious. Jamaican beef patty was crispy and savory. Chicken lamb over rice was served with tender meat and the perfect sauce. The butter chicken was also silky smooth with tender chicken and chewy chicken. Enjoyed with my fresh basil lemonade and great fast service."
"Great food great place. My favorite 😍 is chicken and lamb NY style rice bowl omelet so good. And now I've tried the butter chicken and yes it's spicy but it's good really good. Can't wait to try more. Most definitely coming back."
"Detroit Eatery was an incredible experience from start to finish. We decided to try a variety of dishes so we could really get a feel for the menu, and every single item exceeded our expectations. We ordered four dishes including butter chicken, chicken 65, General Tso’s chicken, and lo mein, and it was honestly hard to pick a favorite because they were all that good. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, and the sauce had the ideal balance of spice and smoothness. The chicken 65 had amazing flavor and a great kick to it. It was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned extremely well. The General Tso’s chicken was another standout with the perfect mix of sweetness, spice, and crunch, and it did not feel overly greasy like it sometimes can at other places. The lo mein tied everything together perfectly. It was flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked just right, making it a great complement to the other dishes. What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted and how well the flavors came together across different styles of cuisine. You could tell the food was made with care and attention to detail. We ordered a lot of food and still ended up finishing the majority of it because it was just that good. If you are looking for a place that offers great variety, generous portions, and consistently amazing flavor, Detroit Eatery is the spot. Everything we tried was a hit, and we will definitely be back to try even more of the menu. Highly recommend."
"It's generous quantity, very much street food like taste, and the place has the same vibe. It's super clean, but just carry out eatery. Has some good selection of middle eastern and Indian dishes, food gets cooked quickly, you can tell they prepare the food after we order. It's open till late which is great, and not very expensive as well. Try the Chicken rice or Beef or Lamb, make it extra spicy if you like spicy, with a Mango Lsssi it's really a good choice."
