"Visited today. I got food from the hot bar. The fried chicken isn't seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was super bland. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The pineapple upside cake was absolutely horrible. It tastes like cornbread. 👎🏿"

"A new delight at every turn. I cannot believe I’ve never been here before. I was impressed immediately upon walking in but I wasn’t expecting it to keep getting better. The cakes were gorgeous, good quality bread, amazing ready to eat meals, super friendly staff, coffee and peanuts that can be ground on the spot. And they also still manage to carry all of the standard brands. This place did not disappoint! I’ll definitely be coming back and I recommend that you all do too!"

"I was there the day before Thanksgiving grabbing some pre-cooked turkey for the holiday. It was very busy, as you would imagine, and a man named Reco took care of me and he was wonderful! He was friendly, had a big smile on his face, was calm amongst the chaos, and was very helpful! The cashier was also lovely, although I can’t remember her name. Great experience!"

"I hadn't been to Holiday Market in years. I was food shopping more often for holiday get togethers and in one week I stopped in Westborn (always great), and Western (liking this place more and more), and then I thought why not Holiday for a cheese plate. The only employee who was nice was the woman at the cheese counter. The woman on the platform above the store was the worst-yelling at me that I was heading towards the entrance to exit, like I said I used to go all the time, it had been years. I felt like I was in a zombie movie with all the employees. Every interaction was odd. I knew without even looking it up that they had to be under different ownership. I used to feel so welcome there. The only reason not giving it one star is that the cheese is really good. Honey goat cheese...amazing!"

"To Whom It May Concern, Holiday Market has long been a valued staple in the Royal Oak community, known for its high-quality prepared foods, exceptional meat and seafood counters, and professional wine department. My family and I have relied on this store as our primary grocery provider for many years. Over the past several weeks, however, I have experienced a noticeable decline in overall service quality. On MULTIPLE occasions, meat and poultry items were not included in my bags, requiring additional trips back to the store. I have also encountered frequent out-of-stock items, limited availability of prepared foods during standard working hours, and inconsistent produce selection. These issues have become increasingly disruptive and time-consuming for quick trips. Since the change in ownership and management, there also appears to be a decline in employee engagement and focus on customer service. In addition, the in-store environment has shifted in ways that detract from a professional retail experience. Specifically, a number of employees are wearing full respirator-style or medical-grade masks well beyond typical food-handling requirements, and some interactions at the service counters now include unsolicited personal disclosures—such as preferred pronouns or personal identity statements—prior to assisting customers (completely unnecessary). While everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs and preferences, I find it unnecessary and inappropriate for customers to be presented with personal or ideological information when simply purchasing groceries, meat, or fish. These interactions detract from the efficiency, professionalism, and comfort of the customer experience, particularly in a premium food environment. I'll continue to shop at Holiday Market because I value what the store has historically represented. However, given the pricing and reputation of the brand, I believe customers should expect consistent product availability, accurate order handling, and a service-focused, neutral, and professional in-store atmosphere. I will continue to monitor the situation, but if current conditions persist, I will consider alternative options for my family’s grocery needs. Engagement is free & attention to detail is the key to success. Thank you for your time and consideration - Please do better."
