"Our waiter was obviously newer to his role (possibly his first weekend). He made some mistakes that didn't sit well with his manager, who berated hom quite loudly. (And part of the issue was an adjustment he tried to make in their ordering system, that he supposedly wasn't supposed to have the credentials for, but he did.) It was early, and we were the only diners, but still found it very undermining. You're supposed to criticize in private."
