"I wandered by on a rainy day (when they were CLOSED), and as I opened my mouth to, “Wow” when I noticed the beautiful treats, Mark opened the door & let me in. He let me know they were recently voted the best pumpkin donuts in town and I had to try them. They were phenomenal! It was the first time I wanted to send a thank-you letter for letting me into their shop and tasting this moist, hefty donut, packed with pumpkin & the perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar, fluffy & cakes, but doesn’t crumble. Saturday’s they are mostly prepping for weddings, but will welcome you any time if they see your mouth watering at the picture window. Mark & Kim have a lovely shop, custom fortune cookies and plethora of other delicate treats. Stop by, you will thank them later."

"I called and ordered our daughter’s birthday cake a month ahead of time. Had a picture as a an example. How I wanted the Dino’s to look and that I wanted one to be a triceratops. She said that was doable. I also said I wanted her to do differently on the side of the cake and she could have creative freedom. Also told her no yellow only purple and pink with green for the plants and spelled out the names. Then we talked about cake fillings and decided on carrot I asked what she put in it and she said I could pick what I wanted. I picked golden raisins, carrot, and pecans. The cake was dense and heavy with regular raisins and seemed like candied walnuts because they were so hard. Then it gets worse with the outside of the cake. The first time I came to pick it up half the cake was yellow and there was no icing work on the side of the cake, and two long necks. She admitted she didn’t look up the dinosaurs and just copied the picture I sent her. Which made me even more mad. She told me she could fix it but I couldn’t pick it up until tomorrow. Which was pointless because the day of pick up was our daughters birthday and we check out the next morning with a 6 hour drive home. She said she could fix the yellow. Which she did but she spelled my daughters name wrong and still not icing work on the side and the top looked nothing like I wanted it to. Honestly if the cake was for myself I would of just asked for a full refund. I was extremely disappointed and the worst experience ordering a cake. I’d recommend ordering in person so you can make sure her notes match your order. *picture with 3 is what I asked for."

From the very first phone call, Kim put me completely at ease - asking questions about my preferences and using her expertise to make recommendations or adjustments. I really appreciated her willingness to customize and change things, not just use a list of standard recipes - she really is an expert to make those adjustments. We set up a tasting at her adorable shop in downtown Traverse City, where both the cupcakes and the service exceeded my expectations. She took great notes on the three varieties we chose, and six months later at the wedding everything matched exactly. I received so many compliments from my guests on the cupcakes, and even my husband (who isn't a fan of sweets) fawned over the lemon cake. Kim knew the venue well, set everything up beautifully, and was so easy to work with. I couldn't be happier, and would recommend Water's Edge Sweet Tooth to absolutely everyone. Thank you SO much!
