"I just had dinner here and honestly, it was such a fun experience — the kind you don’t forget after just a mall meal! From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’re stepping into a playful jungle. The animatronic animals, jungle sounds, and periodic thunderstorm moments made the whole dinner feel more like an adventure than just eating out. It’s loud and energetic in all the right ways — perfect for a night in Bloomington with friends or family. The highlight for me was definitely the food. I ordered the tropical salmon and coconut shrimp, and both were excellent, with bold flavors that lived up to the tropical theme. The salmon was cooked perfectly — flaky, juicy, and paired with great sides that balanced the dish. The coconut shrimp was crisp, flavorful, and just the right mix of sweet and savory — a dish I’d happily order again. 🍤🐟 What really made the night 5-star wasn’t just the food, though (which was genuinely very good for this type of place), but the whole vibe — it’s upbeat, whimsical, and perfect if you’re in the mood for something different than your typical sit-down dinner. The staff were friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there, which always adds to the meal. Yes, it’s quirky and noisy — but that’s part of the charm. If you’re up for a memorable dinner with fun atmosphere and tasty tropical dishes, this spot delivers. 🍽️🌴 Would absolutely come back!"

"I’ve always heard good things about the Rainforest Cafe. Considering I’ve never gone, I had always wanted to dine in for the restaurant’s exotic and entertaining atmosphere. I’m personally not from Minnesota, and there’s no locations near me, so I knew it’d be on my bucket list for things to do. Walking up to the establishment, I was promptly given a ticket, and seated quickly, keep in mind I dined alone, so that likely played a role in my chances of getting a table on short notice. I took in a moment to admire the atmosphere, It wasn’t like anything I had seen for a restaurant. I actually felt I was in the jungle, with the essence of the trees, the moving animals, and the small details like the designs on the table. I also thought it was cool how the restaurant turned into the jungle every ten minutes… for what it’s worth, I truly felt comfortable dining here! My waiter Tanner, gave me excellent services, allowing me time to look over the menu, and giving suggestions on his go to meals. I ended up settling on the fish tacos and a Diet Coke… which took no more than 15 minutes to come out. The presentation was nice, the sides and main being divided. The fish tacos themselves were incredibly flavorful, the fish being rich, topped with pico and cilantro, there was also a lime with rice and beans to top the tacos with, they were excellent. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and the food exceeded my expectations. In the end, I paid $33, including a tip for the meal, which was well worth the experience. I hope to return to the rainforest cafe in the future."

"Our family recently visited the Mall of America, an establishment we had not frequented in over five years. The culinary experience was exceptional, and our family thoroughly enjoyed the cafe. The decorative elements captivated the children, who expressed considerable enthusiasm for them. While the staff demonstrated courtesy, their approach to cross-selling was notably assertive. In summary, the ambiance was remarkable, and the food quality was high. However, I do not recommend this establishment for dining. People come here to enjoy their meals and atmosphere, not to buy other packages.."

"My brother and I had a fun, nostalgic visit to the original Rainforest Cafe at the Mall of America. While our food and drinks took a bit longer than we would’ve liked, and the lightning and thunder weren’t quite as loud or dramatic as we remembered, it was still very cool to experience the original location. The highlight of our night was our server, Travis — he was absolutely hilarious and kept us laughing through every interaction, from ordering to the final bill. It brought back great memories of going to the Rainforest Cafe at Towson Mall in Maryland when we were younger. We only wish there were more locations around the U.S. — we’d happily go again!"

"Upon arrival, I already knew what this restaurant had to offer and told my daughter who may be on the spectrum what to expect. She insisted she still wanted to go here for her birthday lunch. As soon as we arrived, the host sat us down all the way back in the restaurant just like what happened last year away from everything where you can see the animals and the thunderstorm, and she placed us at a table that had trees dangling down on the table. My daughter has a sensory issue and she didn't want the trees touching her. I didn't want to make this a big ordeal, so I kindly ask our waitress if we could move seats, possibly in the middle of the rainforest. Thinking about it now, I felt like her response was really sarcastic. She proceeded to say "yeah of course sit wherever you want" gesturing her hands to the entire restaurant. I say that her response may have been sarcastic because they had just opened and I know that servers have certain areas in the restaurant so realistically, why would we sit wherever we want? Anyhow, we got an another spot My daughter was comfortable with sitting at. I then ordered myself the bacon burger, and my daughter a cheese pizza kids meal. I kind of feel like the waitress was really annoyed with us just by asking us for moving spots. We didn't really get a good positive attitude from her while ordering our meals. Now this is totally my fault - I never asked to have my burger well done which is how I like my food but the waitress also didn't ask how I would like my burger. So when the food came out, my burger was really pink in the middle and I ended up not even eating it. She also came out and gave my daughter macaroni kids meal instead of the pizza kids meal. I know for sure I asked for a kids pizza meal. It took a few minutes for her to walk past our table again, and when she did I kindly told her that I ordered my daughter a pizza kids meal, not macaroni. She gaslighted me telling me she's sure I told her macaroni. At this point, I was really annoyed with my server. She then took my daughter's plate and said it would be a couple more minutes. When she returned This is how the pizza looked. It took forever to get our bill and when she did come around, she asked if I wanted a box to go for the burger although it was not touched it was just cut in half - I'm no server but if I were a server, I would have asked if everything was OK with a burger as to why the customer did didn't eat it but to each its own. Not wanting to make anything an issue I just paid for both of our meals and we left . I don't think we will ever return for any kind of birthday lunch or birthday dinner."

"Great atmosphere. Lots of free games to play. Games to purchase. Just to go do something a little different was fun. Pizza and cheese sticks. Mmmmm..."
