What People Are Saying
from Google"The drinks were good because I only got what came from a can to be sure. The sound system was so loud it was hard to communicate with others in our large group. Most food came out cold. Multiple orders at our table required multiple attempts to get after over 20-30 minute waits. This is all taking great consideration for the food service style and limited staff. Positive vibes though and considerate staff in most encounters."
"Every Wednesday at 9pm this VFW hosts “Transmission,” an 80s/90s dance night focused on new wave, alternative and early-days MTV video staples (i.e., Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Madonna). Local DJ Jake Rudh does a great job of playing the favorites for the majority, but also mixes in a few rarer tracks for the music heads (Ministry’s “Halloween”, Tears for Fears “Change”). As a former club DJ, I can appreciate technical mixing skill, but that’s not the focus here, as Jake segues the (mostly music videos) together, with the occasional microphone announcement. The crowd is a chill, generational mix: 40 and 50 somethings singing along with the lyrics, as well as a decent number of younger partiers especially as the evening progresses. All in all, a fun night out with your friends or solo."
"Impressed after my first visit and second and third. You might not expect such well-prepared and well-presented food from a VFW, which means you’ll be in for a surprise. The entrees here deliver a lot of flavor and bang for your buck. Unless you have a hard time leaving anything on your plate (like me), you’ll probably have enough for two meals. The chimichanga first sold me. It’s the size of your forearm and sits on a mountain of crispy potatoes. They have a good-sized menu with some nice salad options if you’re looking for something on the lighter side."
"So ….. I drove 23 hours to come see a friend sing karaoke , get away from my job as a corrections officer and fellow security guard supervisor . I figured as a veteran I could go somewhere to support . The vfws in Rhode Island , Louisiana and Texas are awesome so I didn’t expect anything less here. Unfortunately I vaped once and put the vape down when I was told there was no vaping allowed in the facility . I totally understood. My vape was immediately taken by the bouncer with the dreads. I asked for it back before singing my second song . Then the bartender kicked me and my best friend out by walking up to the dj telling her that I wasn’t allowed to sing . I stood my ground asking for my vape back because I listened and did nothing wrong. Honestly IDC….we left. We felt burdened asking the bartenders for drinks anyway. It was unwelcoming to begin with but we dealt with it until this happened .it was super simple to just give me a warning and move on. No need to take the vape away from me. It’s not like I was still doing it. Such a turn off for our first night here in Minnesota."
"I have now been there twice to see live music. The place is great for seeing bands. It's big enough to give you some space. The stage is decent size. We had food once, which was pretty good and priced fairly. I will definitely be back."
