What People Are Saying
from Google"We wanted to like this place, really. We are sad that it didn’t live up to our expectations. We waited a long time for everything as well. First of all, the cocktails were amazing. We really wanted to say the same for the food. We ordered oysters, which were good, but hot sauce in a packet? Kind of tacky. The bone marrow tartare sounded good but the portions were wrong. Too much bread and not the good kind. The tomato app was good but the tomatoes were cut weird and awkward. Didn’t look nice. We split the lamb schnitzel and we got one barely cooked, almost raw, medium rare, then over cooked. 3 different cooks on one order we shared. It was not worth 40 dollars! It was also very bland. No seasoning at all on the crust. The ube tres leche was very good. The crème brûlée was wrong. Missing sugar and tastes eggy. We will not be going back. Little things add up and just not worth spending over 200 dollars for just okay food."
"Date night Al the Bleu Duck Kitchen was a perfect way to spend our evening! We enjoyed amazing food, wine, and ambiance! Everything from the fresh oysters (3 kinds) to crispy duck appetizer to entrees to the crepe cake dessert were thoroughly enjoyed! We’ll be back!"
"We held our wedding reception here in May 2025 and it was wonderful! The event coordinator, Leah, was so helpful, professional, and responsive throughout the planning process and she really made the whole evening run like clockwork! Our guests raved about the food (of course!) and we loved the variety of menu options from the hors d'oeuvres to the desserts. Everything felt so bespoke and special for our reception without it being too overwhelming to plan for (thanks to Leah's ample event experience). Highly recommend holding events here for anyone else looking to impress! We also enjoy dining here for date nights (in the front of the restaurant or the bar) and it never disappoints :)"
"My wife and I went to Bleu Duck recently for our anniversary. Our server, Nicki, was the best server I have had at a restaurant in decades. She was personable and engaging, exceptionally knowledgable about each dish, gave us details beyond the menu to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Drinks were never empty, and she checked to make sure everything was to our expectations. When my wife's drink wasn't what she was expecting, an alternative was provided. Every reach was met with a "pardon my reach", she asked before taking any plate away... it was absolutely wonderful. The food was very good-- my wife in particular enjoyed her foie gras, roasted cabbage, and salmon. My food was more than acceptable, though not as sublime as she found hers. The prices were higher than my usual fare, but the service in particular was so next-level, I'll happily return next time I'm in Rochester."
"The Bleu Duck Kitchen was an absolutely delightful discovery last night. My hubby and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary by visiting this quiet (on a Monday night), bougie eatery here in downtown Rochester. We ordered appetizers, seconds, mains, and dessert along with delicious home-brewed root beer with delightful caramel after tones. All that for two, so the bill with hefty tip was $220 without alcohol. Pricey. An indulgence. But we've found our new annual splurge celebration place!"
