"Usually I would rate the sandwiches here 5 stars… but when one ingredient is removed it’s an entirely new sandwich. There is an older woman who works here (age doesn’t matter but she’s the only older woman there) who 3 TIMES hasn’t added the tomato confit. It’s gotten to the point I have to say extra confit just to make sure I have any. I currently have a broken leg so it’s the little things that excite me, like getting an incredible sandwich. But when I received my turkey club with absolutely no tomatoes or onions (I was warned they were out of onions), it’s not a club anymore, it’s a turkey/ bacon/ lettuce sandwich… would you pay over $17 for that? No. It’s not like she doesn’t know when to put tomatoes, the top of my sandwich was light pink, mushy, and smelt like tomatoes as if she dipped it into the confit and thought that was enough (check photo, you will see tomato residue). There was not a single tomato. This is my villain origin story and is the 3rd time SHE has done it now. Please retrain your employees (specifically the woman with greyish hair) and teach them what goes on what sandwich. I’m done paying $17 for my favorite sandwich of all time if it’s going to break my heart like this. My review may change once you retrain this worker."

"Excellent sandwiches, interesting selection of cheeses and accompaniments like spreads and tinned fish, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff who can, for example, recommend a substitution for a slightly obscure European cheese you can't find for a recipe. Never had a bad sandwich here. Even when they've been out of an ingredient for my go-to turkey club, they recommend a stellar alternative (like giardiniera in place of pickled onion, fantastic!) And I really appreciate that they package some of their house items like marinated cheeses in glass instead of plastic."

"Stopped by for lunch to go, a few weeks ago. I remember this place for its amazing sandwiches; it’s been a few years since I’ve visited. For $48, I got two relatively small but flavorful sandwiches and one cookie. I understand the need to add a service fee to create a living wage, but this meal just wasn’t worth that amount. I’m hoping for a more satisfying lunch, when I return, but it’ll be awhile."

"Best sandwiches around hands down! I’ve been coming here for years, and the sandwiches are 100% worth the hype. The Turkey club is my all-time fave, even though I’m trying to eat less meat. I’d highly recommend ordering it with a cheddar cheese add-on! It’s a game changer. The staff at the Cheese Shop are charming, helpful, and friendly. Whenever my friends visit from out of town, the Cheese Shop is a non-negotiable stop. Highly recommend a visit!"

"Today was my first visit—of what I’m certain will be many more—and it fully lived up to the reputation. I ordered the T. Chut Fancy (a.k.a with bacon) on the baguette, and every bite was a delight. There’s a kind of care and craft here that’s hard to come by. If you haven’t been yet, consider this your invitation. It’s absolutely worth experiencing for yourself."
