What People Are Saying
from Google"I have had a craving the last couple days, so had to take care of it. Very good bretzles. Got 3 and some dips to share over Halloween movie time, and they definitely hit the spot, also had some nice conversation with the bartender and another patron while drinking down a black beer. Can't wait to hang out in the beirgarten soon!"
"My husband and I had a small wedding ceremony at Gunter Hans, and it was the best! The staff was so easy to work with. They were responsive, answered every question we had, and helped us set up exactly how we wanted. We requested beer from a specific brewery, and Gunter Hans put 2 of their beers on tap for our wedding. All of the catering was delicious! Everything was absolutely perfect!"
"Very happy with our visit here, I am sure it is much busier usually but we were there when college was on break. Great pretzels and the German themed calzones were great! Prices are fair, it's not the cheapest place in town for a full meal, but it is very much worth it, and the pretzels and waffles are great on their own for something lighter. If you can get a parking spot on Broadway there is a walking path between the buildings next to Seoul Taco that will take you back to Gunter Hans, otherwise there is the parking garage at Tenth&Cherry. I am not as familiar with Columbia, there may be other options, but this is the best I could figure out."
"Günter Hans has a limited menu of food but more than a dozen great beers and a full bar. On a weeknight, it was not at all busy and I found a comfortable booth that had a power outlet. A great opportunity to catch up on some Yelp reviews (I am so far behind, tonight's reviews were from West Virginia sites!). I chose the "signature" calzone which seems like a strange thing in a German-style beer bar but it came out about 15 minutes later and it was delicious. Inside, hot and stuffed with their mettwurst and mozzarella. I'm not sure why the dipping marinara sauce was cold but it was still enjoyable. A couple of beers later and I was ready to end my day. This was a good stop!"
"Nice place to have a drink out on the patio not a lot of seating though. The food was average or below average not very tasty. The Monte Crisco the ham was cold. The calzone was very very salty. 3.3"
