"I came in with high expectations based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn’t live up to them. It was my first visit, and I wasn’t familiar with how the restaurant operates. I stood at the entrance clearly looking a bit lost, then walked up to the counter. The staff were talking amongst themselves and didn’t acknowledge me for quite some time. I said hello a few times before finally getting someone’s attention. When I asked whether we seat ourselves or order at the counter or table, I was told to order “here,” but without much explanation. While looking at the menu, I asked about a drink menu and was pointed to it in a way that felt dismissive (they were right in front of me—I had just mistaken them for paper bags). Later, I asked for a large cup of water and received a small one. I later realized there was a water station I had missed. I was traveling and wanted a larger water, and I would’ve been fine paying for it if needed. I enjoy visiting new places, especially small restaurants with bold flavors, but this experience felt unwelcoming. Customer service and basic hospitality seemed to be lacking, especially for first-time guests. The food was the only reason for the two-star rating. Unfortunately, the coffee was not good—I left it full and dumped it when clearing our table. Pricing also felt a bit high: biscuits and gravy, roast and eggs, one large coffee, one small coffee, and a pastry totaled $55."

"Sage is such a cute, cozy coffee shop. Definitely best for small groups of two although they do have one larger table that fits about 6. This isn’t my first time coming to Sage but it’s been a while and this reminded me I need to start coming more often. I got an iced cookie butter latte and a breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon. Both were really good but the croissant sandwich was my favorite. I’ve never had a croissant so flaky and golden & the bacon was nice and crispy. I also got the brookie to go. The edges were crispy and the middle was soft. It was a 10/10. The baristas were really nice. It can get a little loud in there so it’s probably best for socializing rather than work, but I was still able to get stuff done. Overall I was really happy with my experience and will continue to come back!"

"Lovely food, lovely staff, great ambiance. We’re from North Carolina so we know biscuits and gravy, but this one was so unique with a strong but balanced rosemary and thyme flavor. Brisket and eggs was also delicious, very tender and well seasoned."

"Came here with a friend to sit and have a study session with coffee. I am not a big coffee person, but I will definitely come back for more. The pumpkin latte is amazing and isn't too sweet. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the Chocolate Croissant is delectable. Definitely will recommend to others when they need a place to go for coffee.
