What People Are Saying
from Google"I adore Cafe Corazon, and am genuinely shocked that I haven’t reviewed them yet. I have held office hours at the Westport location since they opened and with years of history behind us, I can definitively say that Cafe Corazon is one of the best coffee experiences to be had in Kansas City. I say experiences for a reason. Friends, I don’t even like coffee. Of course, they have a stellar regular menu with great coffee drinks. Seasonal menus are inventive and I’m partial to anything Manzanita flavored in autumn because they put these little cinnamon apple crisps on top and it’s delicious. The coffee flight is fun to order with a friend but for me, the Dulce de Leche Latte, iced with extra drizzle is just *chefs kiss*. Occasionally I’ll add an extra shot if I need the jolt and it’s incredible. Once, Alejandro saw me on my way in and started making my drink before I hit the door, so I had it in hand by the time I hit the register - which leads me to another thing Cafe Corazon does extraordinarily well. Their team is always so friendly and service-oriented. I love it! They offer a comprehensive Yerba Mate menu, and it’s fun to overhear staff explain the history and ritual to folks who’ve never tried it before. The empanadas (made by Pan Caliente, a local Argentinian bakery) and accompanying chimichurri sauce is out of this world. The artwork is colorful annd vibrant and I love when they decorate for holidays. They have a gorgeous ofrenda every year for Dia de los Muertos. The sense of community and Latin American culture that shows up so intentionally in every detail is just as warming as the coffee. That’s why I say experience. Cafe Corazon has tasty coffee but it’s so much more. This location is a cozy little haven on Westport Rd. and I’m so happy to see them continue to grow and influence the KC coffee landscape."
"The spinach feta croissant and the horchata latte are absolutely buss. This place is soooo good and the bathroom is really nice too. I would say there was a decent amount of people here today like it was poppin but the baristas got everything out so quickly. This place is #goatstatus please come here. I don't have any pictures of the food because i lowkey inhaled it but here's a pic of the crumbs 👀"
"Beautiful place with a beautiful ethos.. "This is a safe place for everyone." Young lady at the counter didn't seem to know her product which left me choosing something out of desperation... A cold fruit tea. Can't say I loved it, but can't say I hated it either. My friend a Tomali and I had a burnt, been reheated for too long ham and cheese croissant. It was all very expensive too. However, it's a calm, beautiful place."
"This was a great cafe to spend some quiet time reading. I had a pork tamale and a horchata latte. Both were good but I enjoyed the atmosphere way more then the food and the Staff was super friendly. I'll be back here for sure."
"Quaint cafe setting in a lovely old KC neighborhood. Clean, neat, plenty of seating indoors and outside. Friendly staff. I had the mocha flight, featuring all three of their specialty mochas. You won't find them anywhere else. The Mayan mocha is spicy, leaving a little heat behind after each sip. The Aztec mocha had cinnamon and spices, a perfect blend. The Mocha Sevilla, with orange zest, was vibrant and refreshing. None were overly sweet, and are made with specially sourced ingredients. To go with the flight, I had the breakfast empanada and a pork tamale. The empanada had light crust and a lovely egg, bacon and cheese filling with a side of tasty salsa. The tamale had fantastic heirloom masa and a slightly spicy pork filling, perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had the Spicy Mayan mocha and the chorizo burrito, which was not overly large, but full of eggs, rice, beans, cheese and chorizo. She said it was maybe the best breakfast burrito she ever had. Highly recommended cafe, they have a wide variety of specialty beverages of Latin American heritage. We'll be back the next time were in town."
