from Google"Town Topic – A Kansas City Classic Worth Every Bite! If you’re ever in downtown Kansas City, Town Topic is an absolute must-visit. This little hamburger joint has been around since 1937, and it’s easy to see why it’s stood the test of time. We stopped in recently and absolutely loved the hamburgers — they were perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of that classic diner flavor. The burgers are grilled with onions and served on soft, steamed buns that make every bite melt together perfectly. The menu is surprisingly large for such a small spot, offering everything from hearty breakfast plates to classic sandwiches like the patty melt, grilled ham and cheese, and pork tenderloin. Sides include all the favorites — tots, fries, and onion rings — and they’re just as good as the main course. And don’t skip dessert! Town Topic has an amazing selection of pies, shakes, malts, and floats that round out the meal perfectly. This cozy, no-frills diner has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike for generations. The atmosphere feels like stepping back in time, and the food tastes just like it should — fresh, simple, and delicious. Make it a destination next time you’re in Kansas City — Town Topic is a true gem and a must-try spot!"
"One of the most underrated breakfast spots in KC, and definitely worth a visit. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of food and service you get. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. I really enjoyed the cozy diner vibe — it feels classic and comfortable, and this location absolutely delivered. Customer service was excellent from start to finish, making the whole experience even better."
"Recent transplant to Kansas City. My first visit to town topic. I was not terribly impressed. Though the burgers are well cooked and juicy. It was very bland as were the fries. Both required a generous dose of salt to have any real flavor which I was fortunate to have a packet of in my car. These guys need to learn how to season their food and I suspect most of the Goodwill towards this restaurant is a direct result of their primary audience being drunk Midwesterners seeking grease to prevent hangovers. The chili surprisingly was pretty decent although is served in an unappealing manner with a nice layer of grease floating on top that had to be poured off the cup. It was also pretty expensive. For a double cheeseburger, an order of fries and a cup of chili it was $25. For the money I don’t believe it’s worth it and Whataburger is a far better option."
"If you visit or live in Kansas City, and you do not go to Town Topic, you are not even human! Was in town for a KC Chiefs game and this place was recommended by the owner of the AIRBNB. My wife and I went for breakfast. It was so good we went back later that day for lunch! The food is delicious and the pies are to die for! We travel to KC several times a year and always make sure we hit Town Topic several times. When I am home in Indiana, not a week goes by I don't think about this place. What a hidden gem! If you go early enough make sure to say Hello to Paola. She is the kindest person you will meet. Tell her Joe and Theresa from I diana sent you!"
"Title: Best Burgers in Kansas City! If you’re looking for the best burger in Kansas City, look no further! This place is an absolute gem. The burgers are cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and stacked with the freshest ingredients. The buns are soft yet sturdy enough to hold all the deliciousness together. I tried their signature burger, and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. The fries were crispy and golden, and their house-made sauces took everything to the next level. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is welcoming, with a great mix of modern and cozy vibes. The staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this spot is a must-try. Do yourself a favor and grab a burger here—you won’t regret it! I’ll definitely be coming back soon. Five stars all the way!"
