"Went here on a Wednesday night. Had the tremendous luck there was a live gig by a supertalented singer that goes by the name of Ahvelin. She will be famous nationwide within years, no doubt. Bartender Dinia was the best. Seldomly had one who was so entertaining and nice, simply lovely. Too bad this is my last night in St Louis, would love to return here!!"

"We stopped here to eat before the game and to catch the free shuttle. The menu has a Cajun flair to it. I ordered the Crab Cake BLT. It was good, yet not great. The service was a little lacking because they seemed short staffed however I've been told that this is their normal which seems odd to me on a game day. Overall the food was fair. The added bonus of the free game day shuttle was definitely the best part aside from the cool Soulard vibe."

"Came for open mic night. What an amazing experience. Talented musicians, great crowd, friendly bartenders. It’s the type of place that made us feel welcomed although we weren’t regulars…which doesn’t happen very often I feel in a neighborhood place. Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a very unique and special experience."

"Had the Christmas Plate yesterday. Really good, as was the Thanksgiving Plate. Very reasonably priced as well. The 1860s has always been one of my favorite places. I went there all the time during the 16 years I lived in Soulard. Even though I live in the Ozarks now, I still come to the 1860s a few times a year."
