What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"This is our first time at Evangeline’s in the evening - we have always come for their fantastic Jazz Brunch. We ordered the Cajun Shrimp Appetizer and holiday drinks, including Baby it’s Cold Outside. Great prices and body warming shrimp. Our meals were the always successful Jambalaya and Blackened Chicken Linguini. The spice is just right. And this all to the foot tapping music of the Backwater Stompers. Great evening at Evangeline’s!"

"Visiting from Montreal and Hubby wanted to visit a St. Louis Jazz or Blues bar/restaurant and this came up in several searches. We had a great time with a great meal sharing several dishes and topping it off with a flaming bananas foster. We went on a Wednesday night and there was music, but it was with a 70 and 80 vibes. Wasn't what we were expecting but was a fun time nonetheless. Would definitely visit again!!"

"We walked past Evangeline's one morning and decided to come back for the jazz brunch. What a wonderful historic cozy place to enjoy Ragtime Jazz on a Sunday morning!! The beignets and blackstrap bacon are excellent. Nola omelette and spinach salad are good. Come for the experience more than the food, you will not be disappointed."

★★★★★

"Great place for brunch. Simple selections without an over crowded menu. We order the Strawberry stuffed French toast and the Nola omelette w/potatoes. Both came out to be delicious! The champagne cocktail was tasty and sweet. Hubby had an old fashioned which was ok only because it was made with Jim bean instead of the Buffalo Trace. Otherwise, the atmosphere of the live music shows the French similarities of St. Louis and Louisiana. We will be back at the bar for drinks and beignets….we were too stuff to try."

"A friend introduced me to Evangeline's. It was quaint little spot. We went on a sunny day, so we had to sit on the patio. They have a nice happy hour selection. It was early evening and not crowded, but they were very attentive. I started with a hurricane and ordered a couple of appetizers. We then had the gumbo. It was very filling and reasonably priced. The food was good, but I would like to try more items to give a better review. I will definitely come back for more."
