What People Are Saying
from Google"My husband and I visited the original downtown location and the new one many times over the years and it was always fantastic. We visited again today and from the moment we sat down it was a bad experience. Our waitress had an attitude when she poured our water. Then we asked if the table could be wiped because there was dried up egg on it. Attitude again. She then took our drink order. We both ordered a cocktail. My husband’s came out quick but after 15 minutes, still no drink for me. We asked (when we had to flag her down) and she said I never ordered it. I said yes I did, repeated it back, and she showed me a blacked out toast tab device. She then argued with me about it. Our food came out pretty quick but was not hot at all. The potatoes were so burnt on the vegan slinger and there was no flavor in any of the dish. The “toast” was a soggy piece of bread. I doused some hot sauce on it to see if that would help and it didn’t. My husband’s brisket slinger looked like dog food and he also said his was not good either. The lemon crepe had next to no lemon curd. Our server only checked on us one time to ask if my husband wanted another drink. My house bloody that finally showed up was disgusting. Something in it tasted rotten. My husband went to find the manager to tell them about our experience and he was polite enough to take care of the bill. It’s so sad how downhilll Rooster has gone. We saw the mixed reviews but thought we should give it a shot. Never again."
"We were sat down at a table seconds after walking in. The waiter took our drink.order quickly and it was downhill from there. Over 20 minutes for 2 drinks. A peppermint mocha and a soda. We waited over 40 minutes for our food after ordering and 3 out of 4 of our plates of food were cold. The toast was just warmed not toasted. The waiter came back one time and asked how it was and before anyone had time to respond he said okay great and walked away. $100 for 4 people to order food, 3 plates full of food left on the table and 3 left hungry opting for fast food instead. We weren't even given an option to have food remade or warmed up. I don't recommend this place at all."
"Just a block or two from the convention center it was a quick walk from there to meet some people for brunch. Nice decor and atmosphere with that farmhouse touch to it. Lots of seating with a combination of booths, tables, and a large bar in the center with plenty of stools if that where you want to sit. Food is good with some fun interpretations of classic dishes on the menu. I had a crepe that was savory and flavorful. One of our party ordered the French toast that was a decadent mound of sugary delight. The help was attentive but not the most welcoming. Not rude but she could’ve smiled a bit more. It didn’t detract from the overall experience but a smile or two would’ve earned one more star for service. Overall a pleasant experience."
"Really enjoyed my breakfast experience at this place. In all honesty the food wasn’t the greatest but the service, atmosphere, and freshness really blows you away. I ordered a breakfast special with vegan eggs, potatoes and sourdough with gravy in top. I ordered a side of toast because I don’t like soggy bread. The gravy needed a little more spice but I really enjoyed the vegan patty. The jam served with the sourdough toast was amazing. Definitely will be coming back to check out other dishes."
"The food and atmosphere was great, but the service was pretty bad. Nobody was really there, definitely not busy. Took several minutes to be seated and nobody was in front of us. Once seated, took longer than it should to have server come take drinks. One glass had lipstick on it still. Sll that said, everyone liked the food. Biscuits and gravy was different, but good."
