"This is a nice place to get a bite to eat inside the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The menu selection isn't huge but they have some sandwiches and salads as well as some brunch options. The large patio is a great place to eat especially when the weather is nice."

"I just had the best customer service experience at Sassafras thanks to the manager, Tiffany Prince. She went above and beyond for me even though she was off duty and clearly on her way home. I asked another employee about the salad I ordered because I have been having some digestive issues and the salad ended up having some items that I couldn’t eat. I wasn’t even looking for any accommodations, I just wanted to know how I could order to avoid my mistake in the future. Tiffany overheard our conversation and was so kind! She went back into the kitchen and made me a brand new salad! Thanks to her kindness and excellent customer service I was able to enjoy my full meal without any pain. I will definitely be back to eat here again with my family."

"The butternut caramelized onion soup of the day had a good flavor but was not hot when it arrived. The ham sandwich on brown bread with Gouda was tasty with the dill pickles as a surprise crunch to the sandwich that was appreciated. The big disappointment was the coffee. It cost more than the fountain drink, but unlike the fountain drinks when I asked I was told I could not get free refills. I received the coffee from the counter where I ordered. Then had to go over and add the cream on another location before locating a seat. While I would not make a special trip here to eat, it was ok for a visit to the Botanical Gardens."

"I have not eaten at the Sassafras café for a long time, I used to eat here often and loved it but, I was there today and Unfortunately it was not good. It seems to food quality has gone down. I hope they make changes and fix this somehow."
