What People Are Saying
from Google"Went for brunch and everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. We had a lovely booth along the wall overlooking the restaurant, which was decorated nicely for the holidays. Service was a bit slow but our server was kind and friendly."
"I had a great experience tonight at the Preston. The vibe was really nice inside.. The bartender, Madeline, was helpful, attentive, and very pleasant to deal with. She recommended me a drink with Passionfruit syrup in, which I was skeptical of (most Passionfruit drinks really overdo it), but it ended up being very lovely - well balanced, perfectly sweet and not overly tart. I ordered the Pretzel croissants as an appetizer, which came with a very nice cream-cheese like dip (I think it was made with Boursin?). For my entree, I ordered the rabbit, which was tasty for sure (although I couldn't get over the fact that I was eating a rabbit lol). Everything was presented beautifully, and I felt that the prices were fairly reasonable too (given the area). My only complaint is... paper straws, really? I know we have to save the planet and all, but a paper straw is barely better than no straw at all. Please investigate better eco-friendly options. I'm sure I'll be back soon, but I'm bringing my own cocktail straw next time."
"Being a single man, I needed a place for Christmas Dinner. Typically I have always done dinner with cousins, but they now have married children and grandchildren to have holiday dinner with, so I went out on my own. I researched the internet for restaurants open on Christmas Day and picked, The Preston. I picked them based on their pre-fixed menu and price. After my dining experience, I would say it was a good choice and value. My Christmas dinner started off with a, Seared Scallop. I love Scallops and it really got my holiday meal off to a great start. Then I had a Beet Salad. It was the first time I had a beet salad with greens, but the spiced vinaigrette pulled it all together. My entree was, Prime Rib. It came with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus and Mushroom Bordelaise. The Prime Rib was fork tender. I enjoyed the potatoes and the asparagus still had a snap to it, which I like. I wasn't a fan of the Bordelaise. Yes, it did have a good flavor, I just wanted my prime rib, plain. My dessert was a, French Silk Tart. You can't go wrong with chocolate. When I arrived I told the host since I was a single diner, I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. He thanked me and told me I'd be pleased with Madeline the bartender. He was right, she was attentive and made my Christmas dinner enjoyable."
"The restaurant had one waiter for the entire dining room; this after one valet attendant and multiple cars parked in the driveway in front of the entrance and backed up for valet. After we were seated, it took 35 minutes to get a drink. But, our waiter, Edward, was wonderful, but he just couldn’t keep up with the demand. Food was mixed: Very good happy hour pork belly and harissa shrimp; Very poor crab-cake with mushy filler and no discernible lump crab meat . Hamburgers were well cooked, but not as described, having a limp piece of lettuce rather than the arugula described on the menu. Because of the lack of wait staff, wait time between drinks was in terminable!! This was a very bad experience for a $200 hamburger meal and happy hour menu."
"Me and my husband went here for our 10th Valentine’s Day dinner (we came on 2/15). We didn’t realize it was inside of the Chase Park Plaza, but we did not mind. We are older millennials and loved it. The food is incredibly novel and full of flavor. I found that the food was cooked reasonably in that I didn’t feel full and disgusting after eating, I felt comfortable and light (aka, food wasn’t saturated in butter like a lot of restaurants do). I have no idea why this has 4.1 stars, I have very high standards for food and this place was shockingly good... more like 5.5 stars!!! Service was excellent too. The servers are on their game. I highly recommend their signature beet salad (truly, the best salad I have ever had in my life) And the lobster bisque Is the best lobster bisque my husband has ever had, and he too has very high standards for food. I ordered the chicken entree, which was absolutely amazing. My husband ordered a burger and they actually cooked it medium rare for him like he requested. We will be back!"
