"Steve’s is an excellent sandwich shop and hot lunch spot in downtown Jackson. The breads, desserts, and hot dishes- quiches, soups and hot sandwiches are all fresh and high quality. The Choctaw, a smoked chicken sandwich with white BBQ sauce is the best sandwich in the metro! The Chess Squares could end Wars if used properly! Amazing, friendly service. There’s not a bad item on this unique menu. Smaller restaurant space and the restroom is in the attached Nextdoor building, downstairs. If you haven’t tried Steve’s go today!!"

"Driving from Memphis to New Orleans needed a stop and Jackson is exactly halfway. Looked for somewhere downtown and lucked out with Steve’s. Great sandwiches and also had the Gumbo - outstanding! The team (and I’m so sorry I didn’t get their names) were wonderful. They thanked everyone who came in always said goodbye - my kind of people. I guess it’s that ‘Southern Hospitality’ one hears about! Even took some biscuits - sorry cookies 😊 - for the rest of the drive and they threw an extra in which was a nice touch."

"Excellent small lunch shop located downtown Jackson. Shop has about ten table tops. Specials are written on the black board and the rest on QR menu available at counter. Choctaw sandwich was delicious and came with drink, pasta salad, and chips. Staff were very personable and polite. Baked goods available at front glass case"

"This is by far a great restaurant for lunch. First time visiting, so I ordered the day's special: BBQ Shrimp and Grits with salad and Ficcotta bread. Everything tasted fresh. Nothing's frozen, nothing is prepackaged and everything is super delicious. Even the salad is refreshing! Marinated shrimp with veggies and the bread is absolutely great. Light and soft, but such a large portion! I need the recipe to make this bread at home. Will visit again!"

"Get the lemon iced tea cake! So yummy. Also, the guy who prepares the food seems super into his work, which makes things even more interesting here. Quick preparation. Nice menu of fresh eats. Salads are freshly made. Go, try it. Cute spot."
