What People Are Saying
from Google"Guthrie’s is very simplified inside when it comes to the dining area, but it presents as clean and orderly. The staff are always very friendly and this is one of my favorite places in town to go! Chicken is good every single time and I’ve never had a negative experience. I actually forgot to take a picture of my meal before I began eating. I had ordered the five piece and as you can see, there’s plenty of food to go around. I don’t know what kind of batter they use on their chicken, but it is fantastic when it comes to flavor and the crispiness of the tenders. And the Guthrie sauce is amazing. They need to bottle it and sell it by the jar! I always order extra fries because there’s nothing better if you had Cane’s It’s very comparable to that. If you order the sweet tea, make sure you like it extra sweet otherwise order half sweet half unsweet because it’s super sweet! Lol"
"Wow, I really enjoyed Guthrie's over their time in Oxford but the quality is going down at times especially lunch. This last time made me feel like customer service just was thrown out the window. It wasn't busy. It's spring break and only 2 cars in front. I decided to do an order online so it wouldn't be a problem in the drive through. I was there before the order was ready and that's fine. After placing my order and picking up my order I assumed everything was fine and I trusted the staff for the quality I've been getting prior. To get home and realize for as much as I paid and what it looked like and seemed to be reheated fries , no crisp just really soggy. The chicken was not the fresh crispy chicken as always before. The bag had something splattered on the back and the toast not really toast. I hope that things get better soon because I can't see wanting to go back with things like that."
"I ordered the box for $10. It includes strips, fries, toast, and slaw. The strips were good. The crinkle cut fries were not good. The slaw was not that great. The toast was good but cold. They had an order 38 plates ahead of me, so I’m guessing I got part of the tons of fries that were cooked for that order. The guy working in the drive thru and the guy fixing the food were constantly arguing. Not sure I’ll return here. Oh, and the sauce was good."
"Came by for lunch today and ordered the four piece combo with extra sauce and bread. Was never asked if I wanted a receipt so I sat down and ten minutes later two gentleman ordered and received their food. I asked the employee how much longer it would take and she couldn’t find my order and I had to tell her what I ordered. At this point I asked for a refund and didn’t want to wait any longer for food but just leave the establishment."
"Visited at 11:49 on this day, May 30th, entered the building, and there was only one person on counter and she was in the drive thru, two people eating in the lobby. The girl who looked to be part of management stood on the opposite side of the doorway to the kitchen noticed me at the counter but stood ignoring me for a few minutes. Then when she saw that the drive thru girl was paying no mind she finally came and asked a little abrasive, "Can I help you??". I told her what I wanted she took my order , fixed my drink and then walked to the back where there were other people talking loudly but never saw her or anybody else come upfront. After 10mins of waiting the drive thru person walks by, never acknowledged or looked my way, went to the kitchen then came back out put a plate in a bag and said , "here you go" and walked away and went back to her drive thru. Never even gave me a receipt. NO FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO SMILES , NO EYE CONTACT, NO GOOD HOT FOOD, MY CHICKEN AND FRIES WERE COLD AS A WEDGE! THE CHICKEN DARK AND DRY LIKE IT HAD BEEN SITTING A WHILE. I KNOW SITTING CHICKEN BECAUSE I COOK FOR A LIVING. I felt as though I had walked into a total strangers place of residence unwanted and unwelcomed."
