"Shady Acres Restaurant is a quaint hometown spot located just off Hwy 49, and it offers more than just a place to eat. It’s part restaurant, part fruit stand, and part gift shop, which makes it a fun place to stop. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. One employee really stood out, even though I didn’t catch her name. She was the first to greet us, went out of her way to offer help, and ended up bringing our food as well. Her friendliness made a great impression. The food was excellent—great quality and cooked perfectly. We ordered the chicken strip basket and the bacon cheeseburger. With my meal, I had ranch and honey mustard, and both tasted homemade. They were fresh, flavorful, and honestly delightful, which really elevated the meal. The gift shop had a massive selection, making it easy to spend time browsing. The bathrooms were also very clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, Shady Acres is a great stop with good food, friendly service, and a charming hometown feel."

"Generally don’t leave reviews but this place was too wonderful not to mention. We loved it so much we routed our trip home so we could stop here again. The staff are AMAZING. We had lunch our first trip. I had a shrimp po boy and my husband had the ribs. Both excellent. Ribs were by far the most tender we’ve ever had. 2nd stop we go there too early for lunch so they fixed us an amazing breakfast and we waited until we could get 2 racks of ribs to go. I asked a lady what kind of cake they had sliced and she told me to take a piece. I said what do you mean take a piece? She replied that the other lady had told her we specifically routed back to their store and she wanted me to have a piece of cake on her. Wow!! I was so shocked. Italian crème cake…so good! Cannot say enough about the ladies and food at this place. We’ll be back someday!"

"I was on the road and ordered a cheese burger and fries to go. Unsweetened tea. The wait was a bit long so I looked around. It was right before Christmas so there were a lot of packaged baked goods that looked amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The tea was very good. The burger was quite good, but there was no cheese. The menu Just has a hamburger on it, but I specifically asked to have cheese added. Still, the burger was very good. The fries were kind of gross mushy on the inside Crisp on the outside, but Tasted more like oil than potato. There was no ketchup, no utensils, no salt or anything other than my food in the bag. If they want you to get it for yourself, it would be helpful to mention That. As it was, I was already on the road, and it was too late to go back. I think it would be a cute place to stop in the summer. It looks like there is a plant nursery that was closed down for the winter. It would also be a great place to pick up some baked goods. The general store part was a lot like Cracker Barrel, but not as well merchandised. Some of the stuff look like it had been there for a while, but there were also some higher end things."

"Super charming place! Loved the general store and outdoor market. The restaurant was a little touch and go, though. The fountain machines weren’t working, my food took 40 minutes to come out and there were maybe 4 other tables there, and the bun of the burger needs help, as it kept ripping. Flavor was good, though! Service was also a little lacking. I’d give this place another try though!"
