"Calle Sol delivered a genuinely excellent dining experience. The waitress was outstanding—attentive without hovering, kind, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations nudged us toward dishes we wouldn’t normally order, and that gamble paid off; everything we tried was impressive and full of flavor. The hostess set the tone right away, greeting us promptly and getting us seated in under five minutes. Smooth, welcoming, and well-run from start to finish. Calle Sol feels like a place that respects both the food and the people eating it, which is rarer than it should be."

"Service: The service was mind-blowing. No exaggeration. The waiter took care of us like we were royalty. He was extremely polite, prompt, helpful with the menu, and extra attentive. The service was so good I questioned whether or not I looked like someone famous. The owner or manager greeted us as we left and welcomed us back. I would come back any day solely based on the service! Food: If I had more stomach, I'd eat more. Arepas 10/10 - Amazing flavor. So much so that I did not take off for the difficulty it was to eat it with the bread. You must use a fork and eat the bread at the bottom. Sopa Del Día 10/10 - Rich in flavor and content. Chaufa 10/10 - I have had different iterations of this elsewhere and it was by far better at this location. Key lime pie 10/10 - Never had a better key lime pie anywhere inside or out of the US. Portion size is definitely sharable."

"We went to the Plaza Midwood location. It was clean, the staff were welcoming, the decor made me feel like I was on a mini vacation, the food was top tier, the GM made sure she stopped by each table, and the banana rum caramel tres leches cake was superb. Will definitely return."

"The Cuban fried rice is probably one of the BEST fried rice meals I've ever had. In my whole life. My husband got 2 half sandwiches and they were both great. If we lived closer we would be here allllllll the timmmmeeeee. We already can't wait to get back to this side of Charlotte and try something new. The whole atmosphere and staff were amazing and so welcoming. Our younger male waiter was great and had a lot of great recommendations. There was a female (maybe manager) that came and asked us how everything was - and then we saw her eating lunch - which is a great sign when a manager eats the food! She was super nice and had recommened a few dishes to try next time as well."

"What a hidden gem! We are from Tampa, FL and spend our summers in the Carolina’s. We miss our Spanish foods and Calle Sol did not disappoint. Our server, Mattie was great! Everything was delicious from our appetizer to our decant Tres leche/banana pudding desert. So enjoyed our visit and will return when we are in the area."
