"Excellent beers. My favorite is their ESB. Our bartender Melissa let me sample their smoked lager before I got it. She also got us popcorn. The layout is nice with a large bar. We appreciate the parking lot as many places in Plaza have no parking."

"This was my first visit to Southern Strain and I was impressed! It’s very dog friendly—they even sell dog treats at the bar. I’m not a beer drinker but they do have prosecco on tap and wine in a can (red, white, and rosé) for the non-beer drinkers like me. The vibe and decor are friendly and inviting. Lots of cool art on the walls too. It’s located next to Harris Teeter so you can pick up groceries on your way home!"

"Nice new brewery addition to the busy Plaza Midwood scene. New location for this Concord, NC brewery. Clubhouse size taproom, with nice wall murals, regular and high top seating and open doors to a small street side patio. Beers are solid, although not having their flagship brews available when I visited disappointed. No food here in this location except for an occasional food truck appearance. Parking an issue as it is in the area generally. Overall, a little disappointed with this expansion location after looking forward to it for so long."

"This place is the best! Originally from Concord Nc, this brewery has a tasty variety of craft beers from their Cherry Lemon Sour to the Macadocious macadamia nut stout! The atmosphere is so funky. The garage door is wonderful for sunset drinks. And catch the suncatching rainbows all over the room!"
