from Google & Yelp"Pretty nice coffee spot in downtown central park Durham. The coffee was great and my friend had an excellent matcha latte. However my pastry was dry and almost too sweet. There was a menu and I didn't get a chance to review so there may be better food items than the pastries. One negative, the ordering process took forever and the cashier didn't seem to be in a hurry despite a very long line. Hopefully it was a one off because overall it's a nice spot with a laid back atmosphere."
"If there is a more serious espresso bar in Durham, it has yet to be revealed. Liturgy checks all the boxes and simply nails all the important qualities while leaving all the other BS behind. Just one example will give you a sense of just how serious they are when pulling shots: everything is weighed twice. Yep. They weigh the shot when grinding and then weigh again when the shot is being pulled. Watching the pro behind the machines here was impressive. For example, I believe he’s right down to the tenth of a gram in measurements. You simply don’t see this commitment in many places and this is just one example of the overall experience you have at Liturgy. The final photo in the review is of the double scales at work behind the espresso machine. Don't pass this one up. One of my favorites anywhere."
"Went there for a special get together with a friend. The ambience was very warm and perfect for a gathering. Industrial, warehouse look and feel and lots of seating with many levels. The service was friendly. The hot chocolate and cappuccino had the beautiful cream heart shapes and looked beautiful. Nothing prepared me for the disappointed with the hot chocolate which was barely tepid!! After all the elaborate spiel about the varieties and differences between their hot chocolate, it was a major let down. Taste was nothing to match their description either. My companion said the same about his cappuccino. Third companion was happy with her pour over. I suggest the management put up a sign warning of the tepid temperatures and that we could request for hotter. I could have asked but the long lines dissuaded me from going back to the counter. The bustling Saturday farmers market right outside made it a forgettable experience."
"Possibly the best coffee shop in all of NC. The menu is constantly rotating with inventive and refreshing takes on coffee classics, the baristas are literal championship quality and the food comes from some of the best sourced places around the community. They also treat and pay their employees extremely well so tipping is not required. It’s a legit small business and a dream to support. The best of the best. Don’t miss this place."
"Warehouse feel in the food hall. Obviously, the atmosphere is subjective with the other review criteria and really depends on your mood and what you're looking for. This is what I needed the other morning. A few comfortable chairs and sofas, shared with the rest of the hall. Good mocha, not too sweet. The folks working were nice as usual (not my first visit, but it is my first review. Also ordered a pull-apart for later, which is always good slightly warmed."
