from Google"Disappointing…My wife and have tried and tried to get reservations here since they have opened and we seemed to always pick a busy night when they were packed but last night their tables were wide open and now I know why they have lost their line. The food was completely underwhelming. I had the beef tenderloin which I ordered medium rare and it came out nearly well done and lacked seasoning and the bed of mashed potatoes had no salt. My wife had the mahi puttanesca. She described the fish itself as overcooked, lacking salt, and the rice lackluster. The best thing we tried was the she crab soup which can in a bowl that was almost empty, they’re stingy with the she crab. They don’t seem to be kid friendly as we weren’t offered a booster seat. My mom had the chicken Marsala and she said it tasted fine but came out room temperature. The atmosphere was great, we had a real candle on the table and the lighting was perfect for a nice meal. The presentation of the food had your mouth watering just wish the flavor was there to back it up. Dessert we tried the peach cobbler and key lime cheesecake. The peach cobbler had good flavor but was mostly bread and very little peach plus we had to wait 15 minutes for them to cook it. The key lime pie cheesecake tasted like a sweet custard with no noticeable flavor of lime. The crust on the bottom was soggy and the drizzle of syrup overtop had no flavor. We were very excited to try this place but we likely won’t be back anytime soon. It wasn’t all bad we had a great time but the price and food don’t match up."
"We’ve gone here twice for work events. One was a large group dinner and one for a retirement party where we had a private room. It was a perfect spot for both. For the retirement party, we had a fixed menu and there was something for everyone. They also took allergies seriously which is always great to see. The private room was quiet and perfect for hosting an event! Service was wonderful and patient and attentive with our large crowd!"
"Great dining experience good music food was very flavorful will definitely returnJust had the best time at dinner the other night! The music was awesome and really set a good vibe for the evening. Everything I ate was packed with flavor, I was seriously impressed. I'm already planning my next visit because I need to try more things on the menu. Seriously, go check this place out, you won't regret it!"
"This was our 2nd time visiting this establishment. We decided to join our children considering everything was enjoyable the 1st visit. Unfortunately, not so much this visit. My husband ordered on the lighter side and decided to get a Cesar salad with a side of seared shrimp. Upon arriving, we immediately smelled a fishy odor and assumed my daughter had ordered some type of fish….that wasn’t the case. It was the shrimp. It had an overwhelming fish smell, unlike any shrimp I’ve ever smelled. My husband ate a couple shrimp and couldn’t finish the rest. He said they didn’t taste right and unfortunately this also ruined the salad (which he only ate half of, considering the shrimp were in the salad) I’m vegetarian so I didn’t try them, however, the other 2 in our party tried the shrimp and agreed they didn’t taste right. My husband never complains at a restaurant so he simply didn’t bring it up. I typically am the one to say something but he asked me not to. I did call the restaurant later that night because after I researched, i became worried, as I found that the overwhelming fish smell could be due to spoilage of the shrimp. The lady was kind that answered the phone ant the establishment , as I explained the smell and simply asked if this was typical. She stated it was not and that the shrimp typically aren’t overwhelming in smell. I thanked her after I explained our experience and we disconnected the call. I just wanted to give anyone a heads up that orders shrimp, that if you smell an overwhelming fish smell from the shrimp, please be careful or ask for it to be returned. I don’t want anyone getting ill. I truly believe the shrimp was spoiled The Alfredo sauce was very bland but wasn’t too bad. I’d give a 4/10. My daughter enjoyed her chicken dish with linguini. She said the sauce had a mild, pleasant taste. She said it could’ve used more flavor but was still enjoyable. She also had a carrot cake drink of some sort and seemed to really enjoy that. Her boyfriend ordered the curry and he said this visit the dish was more peppery than it typically is. I believe this may have been an off day because my daughter and her boyfriend have visited this establishment frequently and typically love the dishes. I do not think my husband and I will be back. If we opt to visit again, it will not be any time soon. It just left a bad taste (literally)"
"My overall experience at Blue Magnolia was mixed! The atmosphere was superb, waitress was great, and the manager was very interactive and engaging with patrons. However!!! The steak is absolutely horrible! Do not pay $41 for the NY strip! Your local corner bar prepares a better steak! Food was cold, and tough! The steak was so cold it did not melt the garlic butter. Atmosphere was great, appetizer’s are good, but main courses leave more to be desired, especially at the price point. I would recommend this place as maybe a first date, order some appetizers but do not order anything off the main course. They survive due to us having limited options on this end of High Point. I don’t think I’ll visit again… They owe me a refund for that steak! I’m not the only one that has left negative reviews about their steak!"
