"Update: After my initial review, Captain’s Coffee did follow up and replaced the coffee with a 5 lb bag of Colombia Honey EA decaf, which I found clean, drinkable, and free of the defects I experienced with the YUPPIE lot. I appreciate them making it right. Original Review:I purchased a 5 lb bag of Colombia YUPPIE dry process decaf green coffee from Captain’s Coffee based on their tasting notes describing it as bright and fruit-forward. What I received was the complete opposite. No matter how it was roasted, the coffee produced overwhelming savory off-flavors: rotten fish, canned soup, dog food, rubber. It was genuinely vile and undrinkable. Other customers have reported nearly identical flavors, suggesting this was a bad or contaminated lot. I attempted to contact Captain’s Coffee three times to investigate or request a replacement: twice through their website and once directly to Ruben. I received no response. Between selling a clearly defective green coffee and completely ignoring a customer, I won’t be ordering from The Captain’s Coffee again."
