What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Picked up a bag of their Mexican Chiapas at a cafe on the way home from a beach trip in Roseboro, NC (?) and was pleasantly surprised. Nice flavor, fresh (less than 2 weeks past roast), brewed as pour-over. Very good to excellent coffee."
"We were lucky enough to live near this roaster for a few years. We'd order online, and before long Mark would drop the coffee right on our porch—sometimes with a handwritten note of thanks. That kind of personal touch is rare these days, and it didn't go unnoticed. What really won us over, though, was the coffee itself. So many roasters scorch their beans, but not Vortex. Every cup we've brewed over the years has been smooth, rich, and full of character. Our favorite is the Sumatra Mandheling—it’s deep, bold, and anything but flat. We moved to Florida a year ago and tried to find something comparable, but nothing measured up. So now we order straight from Vortex and have it shipped. Once you’ve had coffee this good, there’s no going back. We’re Vortex fans for life!"
"Yuck! Talk about flat coffee!!! I've tried several of their coffees and while it's better than Folgers it's definitely not something I want in my cup. I had Vortex coffee at another place in town, it was horrible. So, I tried it straight from the source and I swear it was somehow worse. Any roaster selling blended coffee in big bags for cheap prices is obviously aiming for a certain market. Several other shops in Pittsboro serving up MUCH better coffee. I will not be back"
"Last year I gifted our kids this coffee and they raved about it. Repeating the gift, I grabbed myself a few bags. I now see what the fuss is about. Mm Mm Great! First at bat is the Sirocco African blend. After getting the grounds to water ratio right, it’s such a pleasure to drink. Perhaps the 15 days roasting to cup has a lot to do with it? Dunno, all I can say is I’m happy to elevate my coffee game, and can’t wait to bust open the other blends!"
"I have been drinking whole bean coffee since 1998 switching up my suppliers pretty frequently. But since trying Vortex Roasters coffee in the Fall of 2020, I have exclusively been purchasing about 6 to 8 bags every 6-ish weeks. Shipment is very fast. My favorite has been the Butterfly Effect (formerly known as S.I.P) but every roast I have tried has been super smooth and flavorful. I have extended my daily coffee drinking into the afternoons and I always can't wait until tomorrow morning to get that first cup!"
"Excellent choice for coffee lovers. Order online or visit The Plant in Pittsboro to purchase a bag of their coffee beans (whole or ground). I especially..."
