"I saw a wonderful review about this place so, naturally, I was eager to visit. The restaurant is located in the beautiful North Hills area in Raleigh, so the aesthetics did not disappoint, but that was the best thing about my experience. Now the customer service wasn't too bad either, but the food is another story. The food is completely BLAND!! This is the first time I've had to send back an omelet. I ordered the chorizo omelet meal. I love chorizo, but it didn't taste anything like it. There was no flavor at all. The potatoes came with peppers and onions that were extremely undercooked. I ended up switching to a different meal. However, I was very surprised to see that they gave me back the same eggs that were a part of my omelet. They just added a ton of cheese to it. They failed to remove all the bits of chorizo and green onion that were in the omelet that I sent back. My husband ordered the Chicken & Waffles, too. This dining experience was surprisingly disappointing, especially because the food was well presented. Also, they tried to charge me for the meal that I sent back, although they gave me a different meal in place of what I had. I addressed it and they corrected the bill immediately. I really wanted to be able to give this place a better rating. FYI: This restaurant lives up to its name; they actually allow dogs to dine with their owners. It was clean, but there was a faint animal smell in the air!"

"Love this place! Danielle has been our server multiple times and she’s so kind and attentive! Chef George is also a genius! I’ve tried at least 6 dishes now and each is as good as the last! And Jordan at the bar whips up a perfectly balanced Old Fashion! If you want great food and great service, you really can’t go wrong with The Barking Dog!"

"It’s great to be at a full service (sit down) restaurant that’s reasonably priced. The ambiance is also pleasant. Service needs a little work as we had to ask more than twice for water, refills, and condiments. I only got the Caesar salad which you can’t really go wrong with and it was okay for what it was worth. I’ll be back to try more items and update accordingly!"

"What a delightful experience!! Friends and I were in Raleigh for the weekend and decided to stop in for breakfast. What a treat! The food and service were exceptional. I had the avocado toast, and my friends had the Mediterranean omelet and the Barking Dog Breakfast Special. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. We all loved the house dressing that came on pur side salads. Danielle was our very sweet, friendly, attentive server who made our experience even more wonderful."

"My first time at the Barking Dog shortly after they opened. We sat on the heated patio with our lab and the ambiance was lovely. The server, Jake, and hostess, Rachel, let us know early on that the kitchen was very busy. We had to wait a while for the food and even though this had been communicated and we had no issue with it, Rachel and Jake went out of their way to bring us a free round of drinks and fries for the inconvenience. As we got our food, the chef came out with a small plate of the short rib and mashed potatoes to say thank you for our patience, and it was DELICIOUS. We had the blackened salmon sandwich, Caesar salad, steak frites and fries. Everything was delicious and much higher quality food than I expected. They also brought my dog a bowl of ground beef and veggies! All in all, food was really great and the service was amazing. Despite the wait, we were treated better than vast majority of restaurants I’ve been to. Will definitely be going back!"
