"I stopped into Birdies for lunch unexpectedly and ended up having a fantastic experience. When I arrived, they were fully booked with reservations, so I was told there would be about a 30-minute wait. To my surprise, they seated me in less than 10 minutes, which was a great start and much appreciated. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Brussels sprout quinoa salad, along with their Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon, and both dishes were absolutely to die for. Everything was incredibly flavorful, and you could immediately tell how fresh the ingredients were — especially in the salad. It’s one of those meals where every bite tastes intentional and well thought out. I also had a couple of decaf coffees, and they were really, really good — smooth, rich, and not an afterthought the way decaf sometimes can be. The atmosphere at Birdies is quaint, cozy, and welcoming — a very nice little spot that feels relaxed without being boring. It’s the kind of place you can pop into on a whim or plan ahead for and enjoy just as much either way. On top of all that, the customer service was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and efficient, even during a busy service. Overall, Birdies completely exceeded expectations. Great food, excellent coffee, warm service, and a charming atmosphere — I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in if you’re downtown."

"The atmosphere, service, and food were all fantastic on a recent Monday lunch hour. My 12- and 10-yr-old daughters were so impressed with the whole experience, they asked to contribute to the review: "If we could give this place six stars, we would. One word to describe Birdies is this: delicious. The cauliflower appetizer was heavenly and the grits and shrimp had peppers, which we previously hated (not tolerated but hated spectacularly). The mac and cheese tasted creamy and smooth. Overall, the meal was impeccable and introduced us to new concepts of food. The staff was warm and inviting, and Frank was an awesome server. The atmosphere, service and food was excellent and we are definitely returning as soon as possible!" Sadly, we will not be returning soon, as we live 1500 miles away, but Birdie's would be one of our first stops next time we're in Raleigh!"

"Very bright. Steady patron flow. Can speak without yelling. Attentive staff. Nice seating indoors and out. Good menu choices. Loved the tomato soup and the cauliflower dish. Clean. Fun. Not hurried by waitstaff as my guest and I lingered for a long time, but it could have been the time of day. It was after 1 on a Wednesday. Will go again."

"I'm rating this as a coffee shop. It was decent - not a bad Cortado. The cold brew came black - we had to add cream and sugar. The prices were reasonable. There is not a lot of seating in the Cafe area."

"The atmosphere was really nice especially with all the trees outside lit so nicely. I ordered an Americano with half and half and it was one of the weakest Americanos I've ever had. I had to take it home and doctor it up, the coffee does seem a bit sour and missing a depth - I can't quite put my finger on it. I want to bring my son here some mornings before school but I don't want to waste any more money if he doesn't like his drink. The apple Danish was really good."
