What People Are Saying
from Google"First time to this location and it was pretty cool to come into this ambience feel the place alive. Although we only went to see a movie, everything looked very inviting maybe I will come back and try out the bowling alley or some if the arcade games and grab a bit at the sterlings. Theatre looked amazing and eventhough someone was in my seat, there was plenty around to sit in so it was not a biggie. Will come back to experience another showing."
"The only reason for my 3-star review is the female bartender with pinkish red hair & glasses. Me and my fiancé have come here before with no issue, and this bartender denied my fiancé alcohol service because of his SLIGHTLY damaged (US work authorization) ID. All the details were fully visible and every bar in town has never given him an issue with it accept for this lady. She was rude about it and said “I’m not going to accept this kind of ID now or in the future” and idk I feel maybe it wasn’t about the damaged part of it at all. Kinda ruined the experience for both of us. The rest of this place is really nice."
"This is the only real movie theater in Grand Island. Love the heated recliner seats and the 3D functionality available with select movies. When we walked in to scan our QR code for the tickets we bought, the girl at the front desk didn't exude any sense of care. She was just there to provide tickets. I guess this is to be expected from the front desk at the theater on a Saturday night, but definitely doesn't compel me to visit more. The seats in the theater, although comfortable, were not clean. There was debris and obvious sugar residue on the seats from the movie before. Sound was good, but buyer beware - there were about 22 minutes of previews after the official movie start time on the tickets before the actual movie started."
"Update: How do you go from a five star review to a one? By having consistently terrible service at your flagship restaurant. More than a few times now the service at Sterlings has been incredibly slow. At first, I chalked it up to the place being new. The second time, it was maybe things were still being ironed out feeling, but this latest experience was easily the absolute worst that I felt compelled to reevaluate my original review. After a showing of Jurassic World Rebirth, we decided to grab a bite to eat. After the hostess seated us, we waited 15 minutes without a single server coming up to greet us or take our order. At one point a server brought food to the table right next to us so I thought “Okay, she noticed we’re here so someone should come up,” but that didn’t happen. She just went back to near the bar and sat down with two other workers. After 15 minutes passed, we decided to tell the hostess we were leaving. This kind of service has been the norm for a while even when the place doesn’t look that busy. In this assistance, there was just my table and the one next to us so it’s not like they were very busy, and for the amount of money we’ve spent at this place, it’s wild to be treated to such poor service. While everything I said below for my initial review remains true for that particular visit, the visits we’ve had since have tarnished the experience. Do better, B&B. Original review: Hands down the best theater in the tri-city area. The theater screens are top quality and relatively large for theaters of this size (remember this is a city of less than 55k not Lincoln or Omaha) and they also use laser projectors which means colors really pop and don’t look washed out. Audio could use some more oomph in the bass department but again for a theater of this size it’s also sufficiently capable. Food at their Sterling restaurant was also very delicious and the cocktails from their bar pack a surprising punch. Honestly, from just this first impression, which some feel can be crucial, it’s clear B&B is playing on a totally different playing field than GT Cinemas in Hastings and Kearney (which are still good in their own way). This new theater is also MILES ahead of the AMC 7 that was here before. The only downside is pricing. Such an elevated experience comes at a cost. Tickets are about $2-3 more than comparable showings at theaters in Hastings or Kearney, and bar drinks are a little pricier than what’d you find locally. That being said, based on this first experience I do firmly believe you get what you pay for as everything from the movie experience to the food was excellent. Plus there’s always $6 Tuesday’s for a more affordable moviegoing experience. Aside from that, this place rocks. A special shout out to the staff at the bar/concession/restaurant who helped us. They were all super nice. Overall, this is exactly what Grand Island needed."
"EDIT:::: I went in on Christmas Eve and spoke with the manager, Mike. I expressed my concerns and at this point told him I wanted to just hear from a live person that I’m S.O.L. After some consideration, Mike was able to get me my tickets back and apologized. I’m updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars, due to the inability to still reach a live person and that I had to go down to the office to get this cleared up. I appreciate their willingness to correct this! Placed an order for 3 tickets to see a movie about an hour and a half prior to the showing. I received a call that my child had a medical emergency and had to miss the show. Tried calling the office, which was impossible. There is no actual way to speak to a live person when you call. Even when you press the other options, the call just disconnects. Sent an email to customer service asking for at least credits to see the same movie at different time. No, the answer is no. They can’t give you anything besides a good copy and paste nonsense. Why would I buy tickets to a show an hour and half prior just to miss it? Do better for your customers."
