Our guests raved about the Art Gallery where we hosted our cocktail hour and were blown away by the actual reception space. All of our guests loved the food and atmosphere. The Jimmy's staff went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable day for us and for our guests. If you are looking for a vibey, cool, moody and romantic venue for your wedding that is unlike any of the traditional ballrooms/wedding venues you are accustomed to seeing, Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club is the place! Pro tip: make sure to get a live band because the acoustics in there are incredible and will keep the party rocking until the lights come on. "My husband and I got married at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in June 2025, and it was truly the most special day at the most incredible venue. From the moment we left our initial tour, we knew our search was over—we wanted something different, and Jimmy’s Jazz was unlike any venue we had seen. The space itself is stunning, unique, and so much fun. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful and memorable it was, and many have told us it was the most fun they’ve ever had at a wedding. The venue really lends itself to that energy. Having the stage was such a standout detail—it felt like having our own private concert, and our band was genuinely excited to perform there. The food was absolutely incredible and exceeded our expectations. The team was so accommodating with our requests, from swapping out sides to offering several mini desserts instead of a traditional cake, and even adding a mocktail option. Everything was thoughtful, delicious, and beautifully executed. The flow of the night was seamless. We loved being able to use the art gallery for cocktail hour—it was spacious, visually striking, and perfect for guests to mingle. Multiple bars kept things moving smoothly, and the bartending staff were true rockstars. The team also flipped the main room from ceremony to reception with impressive efficiency and care. Rachel, the Event Director, was an absolute dream to work with. She answered all of my many questions with patience and warmth, made me feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the planning process, and helped ensure everything ran smoothly on the big day. The entire staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely wonderful. As an added bonus, we had access to the rooftop, which allowed us to take incredible photos with downtown Portsmouth as the backdrop. We love Jimmy’s Jazz and can’t wait to come back for a show. We truly cannot recommend this venue enough—especially if you’re looking for a stunning, unique, and unforgettable wedding experience."

"We visited Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club for an office party and had a great experience. The space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of different areas that allow for both lively energy and quieter conversation. It made it easy for our group to mingle, relax, and actually enjoy talking without feeling crowded or overwhelmed. We truly enjoyed our time and would absolutely recommend it for group events or a night out."

"Small personal club, a Chunkies for musical venues. Food was high quality but a little conservative on flavor, enjoyed the drink options but watch yourself it's easy to order but adds up fast. Really enjoyed the "candle technology" press the electric flame down to call the server. Also Lighting was mixed, some very bright spots and then extremely dark areas within a short distance of each other, so that no one has the appropriate lighting, ended up using the candle for menu navigation. First steel structure building in Portsmouth, started as a YMCA back when there were Christians."

"We held our wedding meet and greet here and the event couldn’t have worked out better! The venue has great atmosphere (no decorations needed as the building speaks for itself), catered to a wide variety of ages, food was great and Theresa our manager that night was wonderful. Having the 2 side rooms as quieter spaces worked out well for those that wanted space or a place to have conversation. The 2 bar set up helped serve the crowd (150+) with ease. The staff handled the food stations and passed appetizers perfectly- the coffee and cookie bar was a big hit too. This helped set the tone for an upbeat wedding weekend.
