"Amazing atmosphere in a beautiful space. The focus is fresh seafood and they didn’t disappoint. Textbook dishes, the lobster bisque is out of this world! The fresh fish selection is amazing. The wine list is superior and rivals restaurants from around the world."

"First time here even though we've walked past this restaurant a dozen times. We went here on a Tuesday night for "shuck-a-buck" to celebrate a birthday, but stayed for the amazing food and service! We eat out quite a bit and it usually takes a lot to impress us, but this place nailed it all from the well balanced dishes, spot on drinks, and of course, the awesome service from the entire crew. The servers were all very friendly, courteous, and attentive to our needs even before we asked for it. These guys make eating out a joy again!"

"Food 10/10 - if you’re a seafood person, this is the place to go. I got the clam chowder and the scallops and would redo it again. The portion sizes are quite large that I had to take some things home. The bread starter with the garlic confit was amazing and the dessert to finish off dinner was superb. Supposedly the chef is also known to be a baker so I would highly suggest saving room for a dessert if you can. Ambience - this place is actually quite small so if you’re trying to go there with a big group try to make a reservation ahead of time but being a party of one it was very easy for me to find a spot at the bar. The place is a little loud so if you’re looking for a quiet place to eat, this is not your place. It’s just what comes with a restaurant that’s busy and has good food. The service was great. People were very welcoming and very gracious and were able to give great recommendations so if you don’t know what you want ask the staff. For parking, I can’t speak to that because I only walked, but there is street parking outside and I’m sure other parking area is around."

"This is a super cute place. Good for a date or a night out. I didn't love the menu and what I ordered, steamed mussels w fries on top 🤔 I would not order again. The fries were good but the combination just didn't work. Staff was ltl too comfortable, with ppl off shift in uniform acting like it was there personal living room playing videos on their phone. Wasn't a fan of that. Seemed like a good turn out though so locals are happy w it and it's been around a long time. Shuck a buck on Tuesday. Parking in Portsmouth can be a challenge but there is an affordable lot and it's def a place worth going. I would do JJ's again, maybe try the tuna tartar, lobster bisque or the calamari. Loved the ginger cocktail I got👍"
