"I visited a lot when I was a kid. I haven't visited in awhile but I found the ice-cream is still good. I had the Totally Turtle, vanilla ice-cream mixed with caramel, fudge chips and sliced pecans (?). It tasted good. Update: July 2025; Mint Chip has either good 👍 size chocolate chips or morsels! Yum 😋! Service was good. Price to portion is better at other places. Menu for cooked food available. Indoor seating and ATM available. Parking can get tight when they are busy. I recommend a visit.."

"Creamy Ice Cream, Friendly Service! Couldn't walk by without stopping! There was a *full* parking lot and clearly many happy customers. The line was quick; but I couldn't decide which flavor; and the cashier saved the day by recommending the Butter Pecan. Delicious! I had to come back for dinner. I ordered the broiled haddock with pickled beets, and scallop corn chowder soup (all Gluten-Free!). Absolutely satisfying comfort food. Love love loved."

"Value find in Rye,NH! Lunch total: $42 plus tip Open: Seasonal Seating: Indoor and Outdoor Parking: Off-street Bonus Stop: Fort Stark, Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, Great Island Common, New Castle Beach, and Pierce Island are cute places to walk, sit, and take pictures. All within 3 miles. Order: Two orders of fish tacos on special ($11 an order?! Unheard of!), Side order of waffle fries, 3 bean salad, coleslaw, lemonade, ice tea, and 2 free waters. Pros: Tacos were a steal at this price, fresh, and lightly fried perfectly. Served over a dry cabbage slaw, pickled red onion, and flavorful crema. Pro tip, throw a couple scoops of the side coleslaw on the taco to add bonus flavor and moisture. Three bean salad was flavored cowboy caviar style; a sweet surprise and delicious pairing for the fried tacos. Great outdoor space with picnic tables outback to enjoy a Sunday afternoon catching up with a friend. Will return for food and must try the ice cream next time. Cons: Sides are separate so you can go from cheap to moderate price quickly, but truly for the Seacoast and especially Rye these prices are beyond fair. Second con, you have limited time to enjoy the fare and vibe. I discovered this place a month before it closed for the season 😞 Counter Service: Sweet younger staff, very helpful, patient, and quick to list all options off for you. Even asked how we liked everything when we walked back up to use the bathroom. A+"

"The coffee ice cream is excellent. The deep, rich flavor really hit the spot. The chocolate chip ice cream is one of the best we’ve had. We so enjoyed the location and were tickled to see how busy The Ice House was on a Wednesday evening. The staff provided friendly, fast service. Having plenty of parking was a plus. We’ll definitely be back. Yum!"

"We had lunch at The Ice House in Rye, NH today. It has been over 5 years since we were there last. Normally we get a seafood dish which have always been excellent, but today all we wanted was a sandwich, We both ordered the turkey club sandwich – it was very good and made with real turkey, not deli slices. We dined outside as they hade many picnic tables behind the building. Service was quick and the order takers were friendly and made certain we were getting what we ordered. We need to go back more often. And, by the way, the ice cream is also very good."
