The owner Rashida is a lovely person and you can taste the loving kindness in her banana bread. The atmosphere is pleasant and kind friendly with board games, books, and other fun knick knacks for people to enjoy when they come in. Stop by and indulge your sweet tooth, with the fairly priced treats, family friendly bakery. I cannot talk enough about it, you must go and experience it for yourself!"

"High quality coffee! Decadent cheesecakes and mouth-watering Banana Pudding! I tried nearly one of everything since they’re not too sweet. I’ll say my favorites are the espresso cheesecake and banana pudding! The owner truly creates a very welcoming atmosphere for the community. I don’t understand how this place isn’t packed! My children enjoyed their hot chocolate with Oreo pudding and blueberry cheesecake🤭"

Shi’s Cakes’ Coffeehouse is now located at 85 Franklin Street, Belleville (directly across from the Newark Light Rail Station, Grove Street). ☕️ Coffee was rich and strong* They brew an awesome coffee blend right out of Brooklyn 🍰 All of the homemade cheesecake cups are amazing, unique, and delicious* The cheesecakes offerings are made in-house by the staff along with other desserts. They are all super-rich, creamy, and well-known top-sellers locally. 🍋 The artisanal lemonades are so good! They serve unique Lulu’s Lemonade from a local Montclair brand. I tried the Pineapple Ginger brew and it was SO good… they had others too! Please stop in, this owner is so nice and warm. Grab a cup to go as you head down to Newark Penn Station or sit and hang for a while with free Wi-Fi. —— We picked up some of these sweet goodies in a Farmer’s Market. In our haul was Gluten Free Banana bread, Peaches ‘N Cream Cheese Cake jar, Fried Apple Cheese Cake jar, and Banana Pudding! All were expertly made and DELICIOUS!! I would definitely recommend Shi’s Cakes & Things!!"

"The shop is so cute and quaint. A very inviting atmosphere and the staff is a lovely group of people. I came all they way up from the south and the food did not disappoint! I’m addicted to the banana pudding and the shop is filled with the most delicious smell of baked breads. The owner of the shop is so kind and I really wish I could pack the entire shop up and take it back home with me!"
