My mother came across this establishment, read the previous reviews and began craving some good old soul food! We ordered oxtails with mac & cheese, candy yams, cornbread, potato salad, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, and yellow rice. My parents and I were very pleased with the orders prepared by the loving hands of my new cousin Sug! The dinner was flavorful, fulfilling, reasonably priced, and made upon order! The ambience was chill with old school R&B playing in the back ground. The establishment was clean and lit dimly! The owners of this establishment were super hospitable, friendly, and exuding positive vibes! We will definitely return for other dishes to explode on our palates! See you soon cousins 😘!!!"

"Found this family owned GEM when I was stuck out in Elizabeth about 3 years ago and boyyyyyy when I tell you!!! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 the food is to die for. YES, they take their time cooking it because it’s FRESH EVERY-TIME but that’s why I suggest you call ahead !!! Let me start off by saying all the hyped soul food spots around me don’t compare to brown derby , I’ll drive MILES every time I got the taste… place needs more recognition.
