from Google"The atmosphere here is so cute. Its giving diner meets pocono cabin. There were so many solid options on the menu for brunch, that I was torn on what to order. When I asked Helbert how the breakfast burger was, he mentioned the one I was eyeing was amazing- and it did NOT disappoint. The burger felt like a breakfast sandwich, but it was truly a burger with breakfast vibes with pork roll and mozzarella cheese (make sure to ask for the egg over easy as it might not come out that way by default). Herlbert made my husband and I feel super welcome and was super attentive. Small diner feels with great service and friendly vibes. My husband got the fried chicken and waffles and I could not get over how juicy and crispy the fried chicken was. The waffles were super fluffy with an amazing spiced syrup. Highly recommend if you want a casual brunch with outstanding food."
"Came here on a early Saturday afternoon for some brunch. I was able to find parking on the street, not metered, right down the street from the venue. I was promptly seated to a table upon entering the restaurant. I placed an order for a cappuccino, a buddy breakfast and a cocktail called the Bae. My cappuccino was good, my food was amazing. I order the eggs over medium and french toast. The french toast was sweet and a good deal of cinnamon...just the way I like it. My drink "the bae" was very good, just strong enough. My only compliant was that the floral in the drink was very overpowering, too overpowering. But besides that, a really good meal. Service was good, Ambiance was nice and cozy. Would definitely go again."
"Came here with family for Christmas breakfast and unfortunately left disappointed with both the food and service. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which comes with two eggs, and requested one extra egg. When the meal arrived, I was given a side of two additional eggs. Only after I pointed it out did the server mention that extra eggs can only be ordered as a side of two—something that should have been explained upfront. I also asked for the eggs over medium, but they arrived very runny, to the point where I couldn’t eat them. The hash browns tasted like the frozen kind you’d get at a fast-food restaurant, and the chicken fried steak was small, chewy, and not enjoyable. I order chicken fried steak often, so I know what to expect, and this did not come close—especially for the price. Service needs improvement as well. No one asked if there was an issue with my plate, despite most of it being left untouched, and I was never offered a coffee or water refill during our visit. I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved feedback."

"JC Buddy’s of Jersey City Brunch Spot Worth Waking Up For! We came for brunch and wow, Buddy’s absolutely delivered. Biscuits & Gravy: The biscuits were fluffy clouds of joy… buttery, golden, and perfectly baked. The sausage gravy was rich, flavorful, and smothered lovingly over top. It didn’t drown the biscuits (which I appreciate!) but I wouldn’t have minded just a splash more gravy to soak up with those last bites. The side of potatoes? Unreal. Crispy, tender, almost like Greek lemon potatoes met a breakfast hash… and they fell in love. Chicken & Waffles: O.M.G. The chicken was seasoned and spiced to perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and not a hint of greasiness. The waffles were light, fluffy, and dusted with powdered sugar like a brunch snowstorm. Loved the option of classic maple and spiced maple syrup for a little kick. The only (tiny) drawback? I’m not a huge fan of bone-in chicken first thing in the morning, but that’s personal preference, not a deal-breaker. Coffee & Service: Endless hot refills, attentive staff, and genuinely kind vibes. The coffee was solid good drip brew, no bitterness, and they never let the cup go empty. And yes, one biscuit went mysteriously missing before I could grab a photo… my sister couldn’t resist diving in early. 😂 If you’re brunch hopping around Jersey City, add JC Buddy’s to your list. Cozy, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent."
