What People Are Saying
from Google"Great local coffee shop. Indoor seating area is cool with a brutalist style unlike most other places in the neighborhood. There is also outdoor seating in the back with some tree cover, perfect in the summer. One of the baristas always stands out to me because he steams the milk so perfectly (even skim which is super difficult to get right). I can’t comment on their pure espresso grind/brew technique since I never order pure espresso, but I do buy their beans for making coffee at home and they’ve always tasted great. They also offer an espresso tonic which I had regularly on hot days. It’s quite a popular spot which says a lot. I’ll keep coming for sure."
"I wanted to share how pleasant my experience is every morning when I walk into Lackawanna Coffee. I’m so lucky to live right nearby. The employees (who sorta feel like friends now!) are always incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes each visit even better. Their burnt caramel coffee is amazing - please consider making it a year-round flavor!"
"Favourite spot whenever I am in Jersey City. In May 2022 and October 2023, good coffee! Friendly staff and kind yet communal atmosphere. Much love all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Excited to be back in due time to chill out and have some good coffee! Get their Stoop-waffle and place on the coffee to heat them up, it's delicious!"
"We love the spot on Grove street. Great little shop and the baristas are always the best. Great place for any type of coffee, but any of their espresso drinks are top notch. For at home bean grinders, they have their own blend through Partner roasters and is one the best around. A bag of beans gets you a free cup of coffee which is awesome."
"Located 2 min walk from Grove st path station, this cafe has been on my wishlist since a long time. The cafe is located in the basement which can cause a person to miss it completely by walking past it. The ambiance of the cafe is good, especially the outside seating area! They have a ping pong table at the back for the patrons and it feels like being seated in a country side setting! I loved the outdoor seating ( you can check from the pics others posted). The service was quick, wish they had some more items on the menu as their bakery options were limited on a Saturday morning rush hour! I went ahead with the latte added with oat milk and it was good while having blueberry muffin on the side. The muffin was tasty enough! Overall a good experience."
