"The Catfé Montclair is a unique experience. You get to hang out in a room with several cats and just exist with them. Watch them play or nap, or actively participate in their fun with one of the cat toys scattered around the room. The cats are always changing, due to both not wanting to overexert them and to their adoptability. Yes, if you fall in love with a feline, you can fill out paperwork to adopt them. Sometimes the cats are playful, sometimes they are sleepy, and sometimes they need a time out (the staff handles this aspect). There are some souvenirs and cat-related items for sale as well. Tea and coffee are available. No shoes may be worn in the room, and socks are a must. The staff is attentive to both the visitors and the cats. The vibe is very mellow and relaxed. You’ll leave the Catfé with a smile and a warm and fuzzy feeling. Definitely a place you’ll want to visit more than once."

"The experience was lovely; both the employees and cats were very sweet during our visit! The place is clean and organized, and I was quite happy watching how different each cat was to one another. Some were playful and others were super sleepy. It was an incredible experience for my partner who LOVES cats! There was a neat selection of cat items to buy and decor to admire too. I was personally quite happy with my cup of hot chocolate at the end of our session!"

"Let's face it, if you're looking at coming here, it's not for coffee or tea (self-serve options, mostly ignored!). You're here for cats. My experience was lovely, but over too fast. The catfe is a small space on the second floor of the building. Do note that the door to the space is locked, so you'll need to knock. And as others have noted, be prepared to take your shoes off and have socks on. Inside, it's very clean. Aside from a profusion of cat toys around, it's very orderly. Cat perches and beds line the walls, and cats lounge everywhere (a dozen at the time of our visit). Staff explained that two cats were spicy and had on collars with bells; even these cats were extremely friendly and used to people. One of them crawled right into my lap entirely of his own accord, though he did give my hand a love bite later. The hour really ran by fast, but it was great to interact with all these friendly cats, all of whom were also up for adoption. Whether you're curious about adopting or just interested in spending time with some cats, this is great place to be. I appreciate how well socialized and cared for all the cats seem to be, and I hope they all get good homes."
