from Google & Yelp"If Crown Heights ever needed proof that miracles come in flaky layers, Almah Café has delivered. I wandered in expecting the usual café fare and instead found myself face‑to‑face with a Sabich that had clearly gone to finishing school, served not in pita, but on a pastry so buttery and crisp it could moonlight as a Viennese strudel. Eggplant, egg, tahini, all the usual suspects, but dressed up in couture carbs. Even the pickle was good, and I’m very particular about my pickles. Consider me converted. The sweet side didn’t disappoint either: their rugelach is the kind of pastry that makes you wonder why anyone bothers with store‑bought cookies. Perfectly rolled, not too sweet, and just enough chew to remind you that Jewish grandmothers everywhere are nodding in approval. And because irony is best served hot, I paired it all with a mocha that was both strong and smooth, like the café itself, which somehow manages to be cozy, kosher, and chic without trying too hard. Between the Jerusalem breakfasts, khachapuri, and pavlovas on the menu, Kosher Almah is basically a United Nations of baked goods, but my vote goes to the flaky Sabich party. If you’re in Crown Heights and think you’ve seen it all, prepare to be pleasantly ambushed."
"I came in for my first time to grab a coffee and pastries. I grabbed a whole box of pastries for a gathering with our church and everyone really enjoyed them. I ordered a cortado and it was also good. I will definitely come back soon for coffee, espresso and pastries."
"Ordered from them using the Too Good To Go app and was very happy with the package they prepared. Everything was fresh and delicious."
"Almah Cafe is an absolute gem! Their food is nothing short of amazing, especially the burekas and cakes. The burekas are perfectly crisp, flaky, and packed with incredible flavor, while the cakes are beautifully crafted and taste just as good as they look—rich, moist, and utterly delightful. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is top-notch. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a place that serves fantastic food with a cozy vibe, Almah Cafe should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!"
"A good selection of pastries and cooked dishes. Whatever they have behind the glass is what you can get, they don't make food on site. They have a variety of coffee that is decent. The service is on the slow side. There is limited seating inside."
"Nice addition to the neighborhood. Got take out but they have a couple tables for dining and there was also a table on the sidewalk for warmer days. The..."
