What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"If you’re looking for a quiet spot to study, this is a great option. When I walked in, it was calm and not crowded, and it stayed that way the entire time. Everyone who came in seemed mindful of others—either studying themselves or respecting the atmosphere. My friend and I ordered the iced caramel golden shaken espresso, an ube latte, chocolate cake, and honeycomb bread. I would definitely come back for the drinks—they were enjoyable and well made. The pastries, however, didn’t taste very fresh. There also weren’t many pastry options when I visited (which could have just been due to the time), and overall they felt okay but nothing special. The honeycomb bread was decent—good, but pretty average. I did appreciate that they had a prayer room available, and I used it while I was there. That said, the room was extremely cold with no noticeable insulation or heat, so I ended up praying quickly and leaving. There was also Christmas decor in the room, which felt a bit odd while praying. I understand the space is meant to be inclusive for everyone, but it still felt slightly uncomfortable. Overall, it’s a nice, quiet place for studying with solid drinks, but there’s room for improvement—especially with the pastries and the comfort of the prayer space."
"I like this place overall, but there are a few things that bug me. Let’s start with the good stuff: the cashier is super nice and always smiling, which makes the vibe really welcoming. The café itself is clean, has big tables, plenty of outlets, and the music isn’t blasting, which I love. The bathroom is also spotless and even has a bidet, so that’s a plus. Now for the not-so-great parts: $9 for a small oat milk latte is just too much, especially for students. I got the pistachio latte a few times; it was amazing at first, but then it started tasting either way too sweet or too bitter, like they’re not consistent with the recipe. I also tried the caramel macchiato (the one in the glass), and honestly, it wasn’t good; way too sweet and no real coffee flavor. Even after adding an extra espresso shot (so basically $11 for that drink), it still tasted off, and I couldn’t finish it. Overall, it’s a nice spot to hang out or get some work done, but I really wish their drinks were more consistent, and a little cheaper. If they fix that, it’d easily be one of my favorite cafés."
"I went there 6pm and the place was quiet. Perfect for anyone that wants to read or study.it is large, bright and clean. I ordered a pistachio latte with almond milk and 2 extra shot of espresso. The latte was perfect! The cake in the picture tast so good, like a large rocher chocolate."
"Upon arrival the cafe is cute. Once you reach the counter to order that’s where things get messy the worker doesn’t really understand English (which is ok as long as the drink can be understood) we asked for 2 pistachio latte with oat milk and a honey comb pastry. The lattes weren’t made with oat milk therefore they had to be remade and the lattes didn’t at all taste like pistachio they tasted like regular lattes. I asked the person working there is this a pistachio latte and he said yes. I showed him the cup and said it taste like a regular latte. He said that’s just the way we make the lattes it’s not suppose to be green?? That didn’t make any sense I’ve been to many coffee shops and never had this type of experience he didn’t want to help or address the issue whatsoever. I wouldn’t come here again."
"I had such a great experience at Qahwa Roots cafe. The service was genuinely amazing—friendly, welcoming, and thoughtful from start to finish. You can tell they really care about their customers. The coffee was smooth and full of flavor, easily one of the best cups I’ve had in Brooklyn. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. It’s one of those hidden gems that makes you want to keep coming back."
"Baristas were very chill and the drinks and desserts were yum! Really good spot for coffee with friends, but also saw a number of people on their laptops. I..."
