from Google"Allegedly the #1 bakery in nyc, but I don’t think it deserves that title. For how long I hear the line always is, I expected everything to be REALLY good, but everything except the French onion soup croissant was lowkey disappointing, and you could get the same thing somewhere else for better quality. Came on MLK day around 8:30 am, so the line was short (like 5 min). Def would NOT wait more than 5-10 min, esp since it’s so out of the way from everything location wise - French onion soup croissant ($8): 11/10, would only come back here for this. Innovative and haven’t seen this anywhere else. Flakey and good balance of sweet and savory. I took one bite of this and get back in line to order another one for myself xD - Smoked salmon focaccia ($15): 6/10, meh. Allegedly one of their popular items, but salmon wasn’t that flavorful, and the focaccia was consistently burnt among all the focaccia options. Expensive for the price and subpar quality. Apollo bagel is so much better - Earl grey morning bun ($6): 8/10, I’m not a huge fan of pastries like this, but the earl grey flavor was strong, which I liked. Not too sweet, but prob wouldn’t get again - Pistachio croissant ($8?): 7/10, disappointing. Got in line again for this bc we thought it would redeem our overall rating of the place since everyone on Beli was getting it. Spoiler alert, it did not. Mid, miles behind the one at Librae bakery"
"Such a disappointment. Glad I went on a Tuesday morning at 9 AM when there were maybe a handful people inside and all the tables were available. Salmon Foccacia was cold and hard. Had to literally chew the hell out of it. Earl grey morning bun was cold as well. Brown butter cornbread - again cold, dry and way too sweet. Only thing decent was the black forest croissant which was honestly just ok but better than the rest. People who say that the smoked salmon focaccia is out of this world or the brown butter cornbread is the best thing to touch their mouth are probably living in a bubble. To say this is one of the best bakery in a city like NYC full of amazing bakeries is an abomination. I honestly don't understand if you open at 7:30 AM and I am there at 9 AM how is everything so cold, dry and hard? $60 down the drain. Well, at least I didn't stand in line for two hours."
"On weekends, this establishment experiences a queue extending from the interior to the exterior, with an estimated wait time of 30 minutes for entry. The line typically progresses at a swift pace. Outdoor seating is available, and a Citi Bike station is conveniently located directly in front of the premises. They offer a selection of delectable sandwiches and baked goods, all prepared fresh in-house. The staff is knowledgeable and readily available to address any inquiries. The croissant was particularly enjoyable. We highly recommend sampling the cornbread; it is, in my experience, an exceptionally delightful rendition of the item. Pricing is competitive with current market rates within the industry."
"Oh my goodness.. Best focaccias I've ever tried. All their pastries, especially the focaccia, were so soft and chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, I had quite a few of them.. Smoked Salmon with cream cheese, dill, and picked onion.. damn well balanced. Shakshuka Focaccia was so delicant it was unbelievable, and with an actual full-on egg inside. Everythign Space with Scallion Cream Cheese was also amazing. The scallions were fresh and it gave a very fun texture and interesting taste that I loved. Scallion Seasame Twist was another great one. My sister's favorite. Lastly the Early Grey Bun. I'm not a big fan of earl grey but still picked it up. I don't regret the choice! Beautifully balanced taste on all their selections."
