He added a piece of marble cake to my order, and we had a great conversation about coffee, Brooklyn, and life. I came from Staten Island to downtown Brooklyn, and happy to share this gem: the bagels are fresh and tasty, the preparation is quick and attentive, ingredients are plentiful, and the overall feel is as close to your home-made meal made by someone who cares as it can get. And: the prices are fair. The place is somewhat tricky to find, because it’s tucked behind scaffolding (the bane of NYC), but once you find it, you’ll go back. 100% recommended."
