What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"The chicken katsu curry was excellent, with a pleasantly spicy sauce. The karaage curry was also delicious. For dessert, we tried the berry & cream cheese and black sesame & cream cheese on Japanese milk bread. Beautifully presented, though not my personal favorites. Coffee and cappuccino were very good. Service was a bit reserved, but polite. The restaurant itself is quite small, so seating is limited — we didn’t have a reservation and waited about 25 minutes on the waitlist. There’s also a charming café next door that belongs to the restaurant and is worth checking out."
"Visited Davelle after seeing a viral Instagram story, and it turned out to be such a lovely find. It’s a small, cozy spot with a warm vibe that makes you want to stay longer. I can confidently say I’ve had the best Matcha Lemonade here — hands down. We also tried the Hot Chocolate, Lemon Honey Toast, and Karaage Chicken. I went with my folks, and they absolutely loved everything. The Lemon Honey Toast was really good, though honestly a bit overpriced for what it is. Still delicious, just could be priced better. The other delicacies, however, were amazing and totally worth the price. Overall, a charming café with unique flavors that are worth trying at least once. Definitely glad we stopped by!"
"Davelle is a cozy Japanese café and restaurant tucked in the Lower East Side, serving comfort food that feels like home. Their Japanese curry, toast, and coffee sets are delicious and beautifully presented. The interior is small but charming, giving off warm Tokyo café vibes. The staff is kind, soft-spoken, and attentive. The only downside is the wait — it’s a small space, and during brunch hours, you might have to queue for a while. Prices are slightly high for portion sizes, but the quality is undeniable. If you’re into calm, cozy cafés with heartfelt food and Japanese-style aesthetics, Davelle is the perfect choice. It’s peaceful, authentic, and truly feels like a little piece of Japan in New York City."
"Small place, but really good food! Nice brunch spot ☕️ Lemon toast wasn’t my fave, but the berry & cream cheese was great 😋 Wanna try the pasta, curry, and black sesame next time 😎"
"Coffee review: There are 2 separate parts of Davelle, the right side is a small espresso cafe and the left side a small restaurant. I just went in the espresso cafe for a cappuccino to go, and was not disappointed. Better coffee than most shops in the area."
"SOOO GOOD! Such a cute little shop with very few tables and bar seats, but the vibe is so cozy and homey. The toast is INCREDIBLE. So thick and fluffy and..."
