"My wife and I enjoyed a very positive experience here recently. Food was pleasant (kimchi scramble, burger + fries, broccolini, smoothies, espresso martini, lemongrass tea) and all staff we interacted with--particularly Jake, the manager--were warm and professional. "We didn't have a reservation so the wait was expected. Anthony, the host, was very engaging and kept us abreast of when a table would be ready. Offered us water while we waited which was very thoughtful. He finally seated us at a nice sized table towards the back. Anthony, our server, seemed a bit gruff but he was still attentive. We placed our food and drink orders and the drinks were promptly served. The hot chocolate was perfectly made and the Paloma was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Dulce le Leche waffles and, although it was smaller than expected, it was very sweet but very good. The blueberries, slice of banana and freeze dried raspberries were a nice touch. Unfortunately, they couldn't accom my request for scrambled egg whites or turkey sausage/bacon. Also ordered was the salmon toast, steak and eggs and the chicken sandwich to which there were no complaints. There was a minor concern of not having steak sauce to accommodate the steak but they quickly offered other acceptable sauce options. We were very pleased with our experience and will be returning...this time with a reservation."

"Very enjoyable dining experience here. The OG burger was cooked, medium rare to perfection, the salad was flavorful and fresh. The Apperal spritz tasting flight was delightful, even with a substitution I made, and the waiter kindly agreed to. The waiter had a charming Australian accent and was both capable, and fun at the same time. Looking forward to returning here the next time I’m Near Madison Square, Park."

"Hole in the Wall in Flatiron was a bit underwhelming for me. The waffles were way too sugary and overly sweet, which made them hard to enjoy. The burrito was just okay — nothing special — and the sourdough bread with salmon fell flat and didn’t have the flavor or freshness I expected. Overall, the food didn’t match the price point, and I didn’t feel like I got the value for what I paid. The staff was friendly and efficient though The place has potential, but based on my experience, the dishes could use more balance and better execution."
