"stumbled upon Knock Out Cafe via a promotional sign on Avenue A. the cafe is parked on a sleepy residential block in Alphabet City, on 13th Street between Avenues A&B. the vibe is warm and welcoming as the interior feels modern and fun. the cafe bar dominates the front with seating spaced throughout and there is merchandising area with clothing in the back. while the interior is small--there's still a few seating options for singles and pairs as well as a bench outside. the cafe feels like a place where conversation is encouraged and flows. the cafe offers a variety of coffee drinks as well as a small menu of small bites like empanadas, scones, croissants, and such. the coffee seems to be a medium roast (Colombia origin, i think) and it is really good if you enjoy a smooth mellow flavor. had a Americano (my standard order) which i liked but really enjoyed the cortado that I got here--rich coffee flavor with matched with the right amount of steamed milk for the WIN! also, grabbed a chicken empanada to-go. warm savory flaky bite of tender season chicken makes it a great choice when you want to enjoy some calories but don't want to be weighed down or sugar bombed. the owner / operators are really friendly and affable and make a visit here a pleasant experience. Knock Out Cafe is a welcome addition to Alphabet City by way of quality coffee in a charming space and way."
