from Google & Yelp"We stumbled on this coffee shop on a day trip to the Met Cloisters (only an 8 minute drive away) on a very snowy and cold day, and thank God we did!! I got a dirty chai and my mom got an Americano, both were delicious. I love a dirty chai where you can actually taste both the coffee AND spices! I also got a cardamom bun and WOW, cannot recommend enough. However, despite the amazing coffee and food, the real reason we decided two days later to drive 30 minutes out of our way to visit Kuro Kirin again was the atmosphere and baristas. The shop is so cute, decorated with lots of giraffes and local artists' paintings and pottery. When you visit I recommend sitting in the front window so the sun can shine on your face and keep you warm (and you can people watch of course). But best of all, the baristas create an environment that feels like you are just hanging out with your friends, chatting and laughing, both with each other and with customers. Overall, I wish I could pick this coffee shop up and move it all the way to Boston, just so I could hang out there every day :,) Thank you guys!!"
"I stopped by today for a coffee, it was my first time. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They have a good menu with a variety of coffees, and they also sell pastries. They have a few tables with outlets that can be utilized for working. The place is nicely decorated with paintings. I ordered a dirty chai latte and it was pretty good."
"Its a lovely place to go for coffee. Great location. I had a latte that was amazing however i ordered some pastries in the afternoon that were dry and old. I was never asked if i would like it warmed up like in every other coffee shop specially in the middle of the winter. When i grab my pastry and noticed it was hard and cold i asked for it to be warmed up and was told no because i touched it. Very disappointed in the service. Took me years to come into this place only to be disappointed. Being on top of service and client needs is super important."
"$4 for a small cup of coffee in inwood? Serously? Joe’s coffee in the w village charges about 3.50 Bunni Coffee up bwy a bit charges 2.50. So whoever the owner is here is a message: Are you delusional? Cause u ain’t gonna be in biz with that price. Often there is pretty artwork on the walls in the back area. The is an individual at the counter who has an angry demeanor. I normally do not make critiques of service people on google reviews as i feel that it puts them in a vulnerable position. This is why I am deliberately not going to descibe any identifying characteristics. That person i suspect is depressed. I pray for you"
"I rushed into this coffee shop as I work directly across the street and snuck out to quickly grab coffee. I had $5 and abruptly requested anything within that budget. In hindsight I recognize how patient the barista was with me. He responded with “what do you normally get” I ended up with a caramel macchiato which was tasty. I appreciate his patience as well as the lesson of getting what you want instead of settling for the sake of time and money."
"Stopped here for a weekend morning matcha. Cute neighborhood spot, gets quite busy inside. Would love to come back to try their sea salt earl grey matcha!"
