from Google & Yelp"Staying nearby so we stopped here after Apollo Bagels next door for some drinks and sweets. We got a coffee and the Banana Date Latte along with a slice of pumpkin bread. All were delicious and very reasonably priced for Manhattan. Great service too!"
"We tried the cinnamon scones at Matto on John St., which were very fresh & flavorful, and a really good value for the price charged. The service was good. Recommended for a quick bite or to take home."
"The man that ran this place made our mornings! He knew all of his customers which was amazing! Our eyes were barely open and he was chipper and kind! After 1 purchase he knew us and what we ordered & he was also kind to us! The flavor of the coffee is outstanding and I don’t know why any other coffee place should be visited this John street MATTO is fabulous and ladies if you take Almond or oatmeal milk there’s no up charge !!! The mozzarella pesto ciabattas are tasty as is the almond croissants - Ty to the man who ran this place from The oatmeal coffee girl + plain coffee guy"
"I asked the hotel concierge for a coffee shop recommendation and he said “Matto”. Was a few steps from my hotel and quaint. This is a simple place with really good coffee and the kicker is “everything is $2.50” (when you use the mobile app) $3.50 in Store. The whole menu! This is coffee, pastries, and food perfection."
"The price is simply unbeatable. The coffee is decent, a bit over-roasted, however you're paying 2.50 for it. What can you expect? The folks who work here are always amazing though, fast service and very nice. I really appreciate that the low cost of coffee leaves lots of room to tip!"
"While we were waiting to be seated for breakfast at another café, we decided to grab coffee nearby and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere of the business..."
