"I believe this small pastry place has some good stuff but the items I got were interesting.. ❗️BE CAREFUL with the price. The round croissant with cream filling was $11! I’m ok for once but seriously it was expensive for a pastry. 💚🥐Pistachio cream croissant was satisfying. It was delicious but kinda lack of depth. The dough was good but I couldn’t taste any butter or wheat aroma. Apple tart/ cake had a strange sour flavor in the pieces of apple. I assumed it might be some kind of vinegar or lemon juice that was used for it since the pastry part was fine."

"From the window everything looks delicious and inviting. To be consistent i always order things i like and its always the same croissant and sfogliatella aka lobster tail. Both pasteries need to be crispy and light! The filling should make you wish you could have another one. Now for this particular croissant it is ok. Nothing earth shattering, it is more on the not so light and airy side. The filling was missing, took half the croissant to get a bite with custard. The sfogliatella, crispiness was on point, however the filling again was lacking. The filling itself has potential, especially if its just filled. At $7.50 a piece you want more for your buck, i know i do. In my opinion its a one and done kind of place. I wish they would fill the lobter tail more so i wouldnt have to drive to New Jersey to get some good ones.(And no, i dont live in NJ!) ..."

"🥐 Just wanted to share my experience! The window makes it look so good, but when you bite into it, it’s like an automatic stomach ache. My fiancée and I got the pistachio croissants for the whole family. After we ate, I noticed they were super cold and hard. I asked the waiter if we could heat them up, but he said it wouldn’t be a good idea because the croissant would melt. We got it. When I smelled the outside, it smelled like old oil, but I didn’t pay much attention because I hadn’t even taken the first bite yet, lol . But when I did take a bite, and it wasn’t what I expected. I don’t care about the price, but it’s not worth it. After a few minutes, my whole family got a stomach ache, but the ones who didn’t eat didn’t. So, I’m leaving this review for anyone who might want to try it out. But honestly, I won’t be coming back."

"Have to say. The pistachio croissant (round one that has dipped edge) was one of the best pastries I ever had. Buttery, crispy on outside - side on inside with plenty of delicious filling. Coffee was great too!"

"Pan d’Oro is a new Midtown café that catches your eye on a rainy day—warm light, golden pastries, the kind of place that promises shelter and sugar. The staff speak in proud Italian accents and are eager to tell you they use Kimbo beans. The setting feels right: narrow, cozy, stacked with sweets, full of charm. The pastry display is irresistible—rows of zeppole, croissants, cannoli all glowing behind the glass. I tried the croissant: big, crisp on the outside, lightly glazed with sugar, and decently fluffy inside. Not the softest or most buttery, but above average. The espresso, though, didn’t hold up. Watery, with no aroma, and served too hot for a dark roast—it stripped out the flavor before it got to the cup. A place that looks this good deserves better coffee. But if you’re ducking out of the rain, you could do worse."
